Strengths: Sheer size of screen, tons of inputs, 1080p
Weaknesses: Still need to somewhat control ambient light, no native picture in picture.
Summary: I bought this Samsung 67" 1080p DLP on sale bundled with a beautiful matching black stand in January for less than what I paid for a Samsung 50" 720p DLP 18 months earlier. The Samsung website now lists this HL-S6767W model as "This product is no longer available", likely replaced by the HL-T6756W.
Anyway, this tv doesn't appear to be overwhelmingly large sitting among the other big tv's at the store, but when brought home and set up, it is HUGE. To this day, my dog still barks whenever he sees animals on this tv... he never did that with the previous 50" tv we had.
Standard definition analog cable channels are tolerable to watch from, say, 10+ feet away. High definition channels (with high def content) are where this baby starts to shine. Viewing HD-DVD's at full 1080p are simply breathtaking.
I guess as with most dlp tv's, you don't want a lot of bright ambient light in the room (read: sunshine coming in from windows/sliding doors) as the picture will not seem as "intense" as it could be and also the possibility of glare reflecting off the screen.
Another minor annoyance is that picture-in-picture is not native to this tv. The wife and I have adjusted to its absence and is now practically a non-issue. Although the dog still hasn't gotten accustomed to the sheer size of this tv, the wife and I have, and our next tv will have to be this size or larger. Hopefully when that time comes, it will follow the trend and be larger and cheaper than the HL-S6767W!
