Strengths: Great drive for the price. Seems to work well with some of the cheaper media that my sony will not write to.
Weaknesses: Little noisy in operation. Tray action seems fine, yet is not as quiet/smooth as other drives.
Summary: I purchased this drive for installation in my Shuttle SG51 mini-pc. This drive is shorter and matches the black exterior of my pc. Haven't had any issues with writing either DVD+Rs or CDR. I am not using the bundled software so will not comment on it other than to say it looks like standard fare. Most users will want to use the software they are most familiar with / is most effective. All in all a very good product.

Strengths: Works as advertized
Weaknesses: opening mechanism a little shaky. Software suite could be better
Summary: This product works as advertized. Instalation was easy and setup was a snap. It is also shorter than most drives, which is nice as far as air flow inside the case. If you are looking for an inexpensive drive... go for it.
