Strengths: Very lightweight and compact (hence compaq ;-)) Fast dual processing power. Immaculate networking performance. Sexy looks.
Weaknesses: Low battery life with original drivers, which have issues with lowering cores' frequencies when powered by a battery. (It is easily fixed by simply installing new driver available from AMD).
Summary: I am a 2nd year university student, so when I was looking for a laptop for me the most important features were: 1) compactness and low weight; 2) power that's enough to run several applications at once without delays; 3) stylish looks; 4) compatability with modern software and upcoming operating systems and applications. The presario V3015 powered by a dual-core AMD Turion 64x2 with 1GB of RAM and 80GB hard-drive instantly looked like a perfect choice for me.

It is Windows Vista compatible and has no problem running numerous modern applications without any delays. Switching between running applications is lightning fast. The battery life was a bit of an issue at the beginning, but after downloading the most recent AMD drivers fixed the issue with lowering cores' frequencies and voltages while powered by a battery, was performing very well. In fact it does conveniently last the whole 3 hours of an average university lecture :-) And the cool fiberglass look just complements great performance this laptop provides. Cool looking touchscreen hotkeys are also a big plus.

I definitely recommend this laptop to anybody who is looking for a stylish protable computer with adequate performance for modern applications.

Strengths: Sharp exterior, lightweight, easy to use. Not too many problems. And the price, of course!
Weaknesses: Battery life. Warms up fairly quickly. Noisy when it's running on battery power. Only 512mb RAM... Screen is shiny and has a glare when you're using it in the sunlight.
Summary: Great laptop, especially for the price. It only comes with 512mb RAM, but it's easily upgradeable. I got it brand spanking new at the local Fry's for a little over $700 with the purpose of using it primarily for school and other basic tasks... and it was worth the investment.

I was going to buy a smaller laptop, but since I have to make very involved and big charts for some of my classes, I decided that the bigger screen fit my needs better... and I'm happy I made that choice. Even with the bigger screen, the laptop looks really sharp in comparison to other similarly-sized laptops. The dark gray, charcoal, and black fiberglass-looking exterior makes it look kind of sexy. ;)

I haven't run into any major problems with the laptop. I wish maybe half (or less) of the proprietary software didn't come along with the laptop... and I'm not a big fan of Windows XP Home edition... but it works for me. I only use this laptop for school... I stick to a home-built desktop for my gaming needs (which I don't have any time for anymore).

This laptop has gone beyond my expectations, especially since it cost me only a little over $700. I absolutely love it. It's too bad I can't find anything similar to it anywhere else these days, though... many of my friends looking for a laptop have been looking for the exact same one, but haven't exactly been successful in finding one.
