Weaknesses: Just does the basic microwave functions. Summary: This microwave oven is plenty big enough for our needs since our previous one was much smaller and less powerful. It heats nicely due to its power and heats evenly due to the turntable, which we did not have before. The top-of-the-line Whirlpool is supposed to do a much better job venting, and there are a couple of Whirlpool models which have a grilling feature that we thought would be nice, but in the end, we realized that we only really would use the basic microwave functions for heating up food. The style of this microwave is nice and simple. So, if you only need basic microwave oven functionality, this one will do the job for a reasonable price. Plus, we think that the Whirlpool brand gives us a better chance of it lasting longer than some other brands. 100% of People (3/3) found this review helpful. Weaknesses: Can't prevent turntable from turning. Could be quieter. Summary: Decided to replace our old Whirlpool above the range microwave after 9 years of use. It still worked fine but the door didn't feel as secure as it used to so we didn't want to risk any leaks. This new one is awesome at heating everything quickly and evenly. Also, 1.6 cu ft is plenty for us since we don't do all our cooking in the microwave. This one also looks a lot nicer. It is quieter than the old microwave but I feel like it would be nice if it was a little quieter. Also, this one doesn't have a button to allow you to prevent the turntable from turning when you put a large rectangular dish in there. 100% of People (2/2) found this review helpful. If the next unit was only $20 or so more and had the option to turn off the carousel, I would have bought that one. If that matters to you, spend the extra few bucks.
