 Consumers beware - several out of box dead 7950 boards Strengths: Speed, rendering
Weaknesses: Power required, heat control
Summary: The unit I purchased was dead out of the box which appears to be a frequent problem with many manufacturers of this board.
This may be a result of quality control, rush to market, engineering or a particular component. I'd either hold off a bit and let the dust settle or insist the dealer fire it up before you take it. This they may not want to do but then you don't have to buy it. BFG does not pay for shipping to them on returns, some others may not either but my question is if not, why not ? It always seems to come down to the consumer to pay for problems with manufacturers products and because BFG techy says " they all do it ", doesn't make it right now does it.
