Strengths: Great picture, solidly built unit.
Weaknesses: The motor is a bit loud
Summary: I have read other reviews complaining of how loud this unit is when it spins up. The first unit I bought was ridiculously loud, the chapter skip was slow and it did not play all of my discs. I exchanged it for another and the all of those problems went away. Although it's still a bit noisy, it is much better than the first unit I brought home.

Strengths: Picture quality! Battery life. Sound (with good pair of earphones), comes with 2 earphones jacks to share. Supports many formats.
Weaknesses: Price.
Summary: Awesome portable DVD player! A friend recommended it and although it is a bit pricey it is worth the money. Great battery life about 6 hours+! Also it feels solid and not cheap as the sub 100 portable DVD players. The sound is acceptable but with a good pair of earphones it greatly improves.
The video quality is the main reason to get this and add the great battery life and you have one of the best portable DVD players out there for its price. Try it out and see for yourself.

Strengths: normal size screen for in car player. Good quality.
Weaknesses: a little noise, external battery but a lot of other brands does the same thing
Summary: it worths buying. It even shows subtitle for divx movie. We also bought a case from amazon. Kids love it. MY wife watching it while doing house work. I especially like the dark color.

Strengths: GOOD PICTURE, SOUND, MATERIAL & BATTERY
Weaknesses: DVD READING SOUND
Summary: I bought it so that I can use it while I travel. It has a very good picture quality and nice sound. The battery lasts very long and the only drawback is that it makes a horrible reading sound at the start of the dvd.

Strengths: 8.5" widescreen color LCD display, as opposed to an 8". Multi format including DivX. Rechargeable lithium-ion battery with up to 6 hours per charge.
Weaknesses: Would be nice if a case was included. I had to purchase one separately. (Targus)
Summary: I purchased the Philips Portable DVD player to replace a 7" AudioVox player that I bought last year. That was a big mistake. After 1 year the screen went dead. I am very pleased with the Philips. They have excellent quality, and I read a lot of good reviews before I purchased. I would highly recommend this player.

Strengths: The screen is pretty nice, the body is heavy but is solid. The battery last for approx 6 hours. That is one of the main reasons I bought it.
Weaknesses: I can't say too much bad about this dvd player. It is a little on the heavy side, but that is what you want in a solid dvd player. The speakers do not put a ton of output out
Summary: If I had to choose a dvd player over again I would choose this one. The price is alittle steep but with the rebate I got, the quality, good battery, and good reputable name, I could not go wrong.

Strengths: Great picture. Very compact. Nice battery life.
Weaknesses: Speakers aren't the best quality. Recommend using headphones whenever possible for best sound quality.
Summary: This is a great unit. Very easy to transport and great for vacations. We even used it at a dinner party in a restaurant to keep our 3 year old entertained. It's priced a bit high at $199.99 but if you're able to get it on sale, it's a nice investment.

Strengths: Screen Size, Quality Build Price, Long Lasting Battery
Weaknesses: Bulky Battery
Summary: I have been looking for a portable DVD player and was thrilled to find this on sale after coupon/rebate at office depot for $89 including tax.
Doesn't get any better.
Highly recommend...

Strengths: Very good picture quality
Good battery life
Weaknesses: Doesn't look high end
Summary: This is one of the best portable DVD players in the market. Big, bright screen and battery life long enough to watch a couple of movies. The only complaint, that too a very minor one, is about looks - doesn't look high end at all which it actually is thanks to its actual performance.

Summary: I have used for a month. overall, it's a very great portable dvd player. big screen, great picture, Divx playable is a big plus. speaker is weak, but maybe that's problem for all portable dvd players. I am very happy to own this baby.
