Strengths: Awesome sound and such a low price. Very clean sound - no distortion. I wasn't expecting much but was but was blown away. My MB Quartz Reference speakers now sound so full.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: I have an alpine deck with 3 sets of pre-outs - 2 sets fullmrange and 1 set sub. The Alpine deck as built-in eq's - low & high frequency expander. Front speakers are new 2005 MB Quart Reference coaxials with external crossovers & rear speakers are Alpine separates with external crossovers. In the trunk is a pair of Kicker 12in DVC subs. Amps are MTX front, Rockford rear & Kicker mono amp. The system sounds pretty good with extreme highs from the MB quart & pounding bass. To make a long story short, I just couldn't balance the sound - the mids seem to lacking. I listen to all kinds of music - raggae, rap, rock & some oldies. I decided to checkout the Clarion eq as it was very inexpensive & has good reviews. I wasn't expecting much but to my surprise just by adding this eq which is the cheapest of all my components, made my system come alive and totally balanced. My MB Quart now sound so full & smooth and the bass and everything else too. And the sound is so clean. Everything sounds just so good. This eq is the MVP of all my components. I highly recommend this eq. I use this eq to drive my fromt speakers (MB Quart) & subwoofers - I disabled the sub pre-out from my apline deck. For the rear speakers, I am still using the pre-outs from the deck. It's been only 2 days since I installed this EQ but I am enjoying the music so much more that when I park my car in the garage, I just don't want to get out - I just sit in the car and listen to music until I drift away and fall asleep which is bad for my battery but hey I got a Deep Cycle dry cell battery so I'm not worried :)--
