Strengths: Weight, integrated optical drive, size, exceptional screen, battery
Weaknesses: expensive, no recovery dvd's or cd's
Summary: Initially I wanted to get the dell inspiron 300m after seeing my roomie's but after seeing this one on the net, I knew this was the notebook I had to have. It weighs very less at approx 4 pounds, has an integrated dvd-rw drive, very small in size (anything smaller would probably be uncomfortable to work with) and has the most amazing screen...I kept it in front of my CRT and the difference in quality was easily visible. The battery life claim by Sony of 5.5 to 7 hours is quite ridiculous. With normal usage, expect it to last only for about 4 hours (which is still excellent) with the normal battery and 6-6.5 hrs with the extended one. There are also no recovery cd's/dvd's included which could cause a lot of harrassment to some people. I would highly recommend using it at some store to see if u can use it...some people have complained of small font sizes, keyboard and touchpad, so check and see if ur comfortable with it. But, I would NOT recommend buying this particular model...get the newer one...the TR5AP which has slightly better features and is also selling 100 bucks less than this one (keeping refurbished out).
