Strengths: portability, battery life, bright screen, integrated DVD
Weaknesses: terrible speakers, overheating, a bit slower
Summary: I really love how much my load has lightened since I leave my Toshiba satellite home and take this one along. It's a real eye catcher and a lot of people want to look at it and play, so be careful because someone could very easily walk off with it. So I recommend you buy this computer if portability and battery life is your number one priority. If performance or sound quality is your main priority, keep looking. The speakers are terrible. The quality of sound recordings and playback of voice recordings is not great. I use this function a lot in my job, and I find that I need to transfer the sound file to another computer (my Toshiba) to work on the file because the playback is unbearably bad. So any application you want to use with sound, be prepared to use headphones or external speakers. The other thing is it's much slower than my Toshiba in terms of, for instance, plug and play devices. It takes a long time, sometimes a minute or more, to recognize some USB devices. The only other negative I've found is the heat issue. This computer gets VERY hot, even the keyboard, and makes it uncomfortable. I haven't found it an issue with performance, yet, but it is a noticeable problem. I assume the next generation of these subnotebooks will work out these problems. This TR3A is a good start but definitely not a stand alone.
