Strengths: This has better picture quality than my other Big Screen Tv's
Weaknesses: Gets reception of only few channels
Summary: Quality of recieved channel is good. I think this would be a good buy. good for travelling, take it to work..etc..

The Design is good and I would recommend people buying this. Again it would depend how good is the local channel reception in your area.

2 Star ReviewCoby TFTV505
Strengths: Good Picture and Good sound compared to most small portable tv sets. Nice size screen considering that most portable units are less than 3.5". Comes with all cables you need as well as a remote.
Weaknesses: Signal is not always strong on some channels. Manual is a litte sparce. Really annoying power on indicator.
Summary: I bought this TV to replace a smaller broken portable. I use this unit basically during power outages after a storm or hurricane. Even after reading the manual this unit takes a little playing with to setup. You can use auto channel setup which is very convenient but when you use the antenna setting and the channel is weak the unit will set the channel to auto skip and you have to go back and manually reset to not skip. You have to use the remote to put in a channel that is not setup during the auto mode. The manual is not really clear on this process. There are separate settings for air and cable which is very nice since you can set different channels for each mode. The picture in cable mode is beautiful but is not always so great using antenna. It also has an AV setting so you can hook up a video camera or VCR and watch it on the unit. This would be nice on the road compared to using the little screen on most video cameras. The biggest annoyance I found is the power on LED on the front of the set. It is a bright blue LED on the front bottom right of the unit which is literally bright enough to use as a flashlight and at certain angles is blinding especially in low light. About the only way to avoid the LED is put your finger over it while you watch the set. A smaller LED would probably be enough. The unit uses 10AA batteries but it is worth it for the larger screen.Supposedly you can use rechargeables so this might be less expensive in the long run.

3 Star ReviewTiny but Tidy TV
Strengths: Very good picture quality on stations with strong frequencies. Easy to use. Compact size to keep my desk tidy.
Weaknesses: Limited reception, Inadequate stand.
Summary: If you want a space-saving, easy-traveling color TV that can accommodate your DVD player, this is a good choice. It's easy to use and broadcasts a nice picture on the strongest stations. Where it could stand improvement: (1) reception - it has trouble picking up stations that my 15-year-old portable TV easily receives from the same location, (2) explanation in the user's guide of how to switch from cable to plain TV (it does switch, but took me 15 minutes of struggle and luck to figure out how), (3) and the fold-out stand, which adjusts to only one position that I find to be too low (as if the designer thought viewers would be looking down upon the screen). It's helpful that it comes with an RF antenna adapter, video cables and power cable/AC plug.
