Strengths: Portable, easy to use, simplicity triumphs bells and whistles!
Weaknesses: Cost, Battery Life
Summary: Overall, this Holux receiver is simply marvelous! Why spend over $300 to buy a Garmin or Magellen unit when you can download software onto your PDA phone and use GPS from there!

I have a Cingular 8525, and use Tom Tom on it. I pay for the updates, but that's okay when you have such an awesome duo of phone and Holux Receiver!

It works great, very easy to use (simply turn it on, it catches the signal!).

I would say for anyone who is tech savvy, or gets lost as much as I do, this is an awesome product!

The price may get you at first, since you are paying near $80 for only a receiver, not even the GPS system itself! But keep in mind, it works across most PDA Phones, its portable, and you don't have to read any instruction manual to make it work!

It's a good investment!

Battery life is so so, but as long as you charge if overnight, it should last you the entire day. I've even used it in Mexico!

You can buy it from several places (Ebay, BuyGPSNOW.com, Holux Store), but of course, research it on PriceGrabber First!

Strengths: accurate, fast
Weaknesses: Map software not included
Summary: This is one of the best bluetooth GPS receivers in market. I have found the battery life to be more than 10 hours so I am not sure why some reviewers complain about battery. It features SiRFIII chip, which is the most sensitive chip in market and tracks 20 satellites. It has provided me reliable signals in the sunny day and rainy night for almost 24 months. The bluetooth connection is also very reliable but it did require some effort to setup when I used it for the first time, which I guess was why some people said the bluetooth function didn't work for them. The only con I can think about is that the map software is sold separately and could cost another $70.

Strengths: wireless & usb if needed, easy setup
Weaknesses: short battery life
Summary: Overall, this gps receiver works great! Easy to setup and connect to. No wires is great especially since it auto connects to your laptop. The battery however doesnt last very long. I Was always charging it on the cigarette outlet power supply (which is included) so I ended up still having wires.

3 Star Reviewan overall good bluetooth gps
Strengths: fast and accurate
Weaknesses: bluetooth doesn't work from time to time
Summary: i bought it because of the sirfIII chip, and it turned out to be a good gps. It gets signals very fast (within 3 seconds) and the position on the map is reasonably accurate. The battery can last for around 8 hours. The bad thing is that the bluetooth stop working from time to time, which is very annoying. I searched online for the issue, and it seems to be very common. I had to buy a special usb cable to connect it to the laptop in case bluetooth doesn't work.
