Ergotron Neoflex LCD Stand, Black

Weaknesses: nothing major.

Summary: I agree with what has been said by the previous reviewers. A few more points:

(1) If you don't already realize, this stand allows you to mount your LCD in the portrait mode, which is the way I use it for a 17 inch LCD as a secondary display on side of a larger 21 inch display. But please note that the stand does not allow you to pivot from landscape to portrait or vice versa. You can do either way when you mount the display, but once the display is mounted, you can't pivot between the two modes. You will have to dismount and re-mount to change the mode if you need to. In my case, the display stays in portrait mode, so it does not bother me. But if you will need to switch back and forth between landscape and portrait modes, you'd better find an LCD display that has a built-in pivotable stand.

(2) On the other hand, the stand does allow you to tilt the LCD panel.

(3) The height adjustment works pretty well. It does stay put if you don't move the LCD. There is a screw to adjust how firm the height stays put, but even with that, the height is easily changed if you move the LCD. Again, because I don't move my LCDs so frequently, it works fine.

(4) In order to use the stand, your LCD display must be VESA compatible, meaning that it must have proper mounting holes on the back. I did not know it, but it turned out that most LCD displays made today are VESA compatible. Good example of the industrial collaboration on standards.

(5) In addition to the excellent functionality, the stand is of very good quality. When I bought it, I was reluctant but had to buy it because it seemed to be the only way for me to use my present LCD in a portrait mode. I figured that the stand was probably worth of $15-$20 but with a $30 extra markup for its oddity. This is a typical scenario for buying accessories. You know you are paying 10 dollars for something that would have cost less than two dollars if included in the origin equipment, but you have no choice after having already made the initial investment on the main equipment. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the stand. I feel I probably would be gladly paying $45 for it even if I was not under coercion.

Excellent LCD stand

Strengths: Adjustable height, Stylish design, Lazy Susan swivel

Weaknesses: None

Summary: This is an excellent LCD replacement stand. The height adjustment is easy to set at eye level. The lazy susan rollers on the bottom make it easy to rotate the stand and LCD if you need to change the view angle or need access behind the LCD. This is topped off with a simple yet stylish design.

Neoflex LCD Stand, Black

Strengths: Full, smooth height/pivot adjustment. I mounted a Hp w2207 LCD to it, which was supposed to be too large (by screen size, not by weight) for the stand but, so far, it works great!

Weaknesses: (Back to the size issue) It does seem that maybe I'm pushing the (weight/size) capabilities of the stand. It hasn't fallen over or anything, but it's not as sturdy as the original.

Summary: I bought this stand as a replacement for a HP w2207 LCD because the original stand was a bit twisted; I could never seem to get it straight and level, and it swiveled too easy for me. Installation was very easy and ,so far, it's working great!

Ergonomic stand for tight spaces

Strengths: Multiple adjustments for monitor viewing, Low cost, Cable management, Sleek silver and black design

Weaknesses: May not support heavy monitors (see comments)

Summary: I purchased this because it was the only stand that allowed me to mount a very large monitor (a 23-inch ViewSonic VP230mb) in a very tight vertical space, and I did not want to spend five times as much for a monitor arm that may or may not have held the weight of the monitor. The base of the stand is only 5/8 of an inch tall, which will allow you to throw away your monitor's stand and lower the monitor for better ergonomics and better fit into tight spaces. Even though my monitor is so heavy that it may not stay at an elevated position, this does not really matter to me, as it can be tilted front to back and swiveled left to right while sitting on the heavy-duty base, all with good stability. There is a screw adjustment to increase tension for the height adjustment, but I'm not sure that the stand would be nearly as stable with a heavy monitor elevated several inches. I liked this stand so much that I bought another one for a 19-inch ViewSonic VX900 (which does raise and lower perfectly) and two more for my business!

Good value

Strengths: Easy to assemble

Weaknesses: The hieght adjustment is a little funky and tends to want to rise on its own. I haven'e adjusted the tension on it yet though.

Summary: I have a 17" LCD monitor that had been wall mounted and the original stand long since lost. The wall mounted monitor was replaced and I had an LCD panel with no desk stand. This product made the LCD usable again for a very reasonable price.

Excellent Monitor Stand

Strengths: Price. Allows monitor to sit lower. Easy set-up.

Weaknesses: Plastic not quite as high quality as the one that same with my monitor.

Summary: I am using this with a Dell 2001FP. I have my monitor on a monitor stand with my notebook docked underneath. My Dell sat really high so it felt like I was always looking up at my monitor. With the Ergotron, I was able to lower the monitor by about 6" making it much easier to view. There are lots of ways to adjust the monitor which I'll probably never use since I only wanted to go lower. Setup took like three minutes and I got it fairly inexpensively on PG. What more can you ask for? Perhaps the plastic used wasn't quite as nice, but it's a stand who cares. Overall, it's an excellent product.
