Strengths: Low price.
Very good picture and sound.
Rechargeable battery, DC car adapter, remote control and earphones included.
Appears to be solidly built.
Weaknesses: No input for external audio or video.
Rechargeable battery is a little "clunky" and the unit feels unbalanced when it is installed.
Included earphones ok, but better earphones improve sound.
Summary: I bought this Coby DVD player as a gift for my 10-year-old granddaughter, knowing she would give it a real workout. It is holding up very well after almost two months of very frequent use. It plays DVDs and CDs quite well, with picture and sound quality as good as the more expensive units. It's really great to be able to plug it into the car battery when traveling! I was not familiar with the Coby brand before making this purchase, but I have been very satisfied and would not hesitate to by another Coby product.

Strengths: Price, Picture & sound quality
Weaknesses: Noice while reading disk
Summary: I brought this portable DVD player on Thanks Giving sale for $50 after rebate. I am very happy as this unit works very well for the price I paid. The picture quality is very good and sound quality is also good. It is bit noisy when it reads the disk. It does not include the cables to connect this to a TV. For $50, it sis definitely a good buy.

Strengths: Price and What's in the Box
Weaknesses: Not for the Techie & Weak Warranty
Summary: I bought this as a gift for a child and for the price, you absolutely can't go wrong. Widescreen, Multi-Format & MP3 Playback. Good picture quality, drive a little noisy and volume from built in speakers on the low side, but sound quality from suppplied ear pods very decent. Comes with AC adapter, rechargeable battery, vehicle power cord for lighter receptacle, and remote control W/ 2 AAA batteries for it. The 90 day warranty period is on the weak side, but purchasing it with credit cards that have perks, essentially doubles it. Very good entry level unit & excellent for keeping kids occupied, especially on those long journeys in a vehicle.

 Battery does not fit well Strengths: pucture quality is good and sound quality is good
Weaknesses: Battery does not fit well
Summary: I brought this about a week back, while I am happy about the picture quality and compatibility as far as reading all the DVDs, the battery unit does not fit well and it stays loose. I will have return the product for an exchange and see how the new one works. I hope I just got the defective one and it is not the same problem on all the units.

 Decent DVD Player for price! Strengths: Plays almost anything.
Weaknesses: Battery life, flimsy controls.
Summary: I got this for very low price under a promotion. It is a decent enough player for the price but I wouldn't buy it unless I am buying it for my kids.Having said that, it has good picture quality, lot of features,good sound quality and it is small& compact for portability. If only battery life was a bit longer than an hour!

Strengths: LARGE SCREEN FOR ITS SIZE
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: I THINK THIS IS A REALLY NICE PLAYER. I USE IT AT WORK AND LISTEN TO BOOKS ON TAPE, MUSIC CDS, AND LISTEN AND WATCH DVDS. THE REMOTE WORKS GREAT. THE SOUND IS FINE AND THE PICTURE IS BEAUTIFUL. IT IS A GREAT PLAYER FOR THE PRICE.

Strengths: NICE and cheap. :) A good buy. CD/MP3/JPEG support. CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW support. IR remote, car charger/power cord, and external NiMH rechargeable battery supplied.
Weaknesses: 90 day factory warranty. A little noisy from the spinning disc. No carrying bag and audio/video cables. No MPEG playback. No reversible swivel screen pivot.
Summary: A great buy. The screen looks good. The sound from the built in speakers are ok. A little noisy when the disc starts spinning, but just turn up the volume. MPEG support would have been nice, but I can live w/o it. Can't beat the price point and value. There are more expensive units out there with features I would have liked (reversible swivel LCD, audio/vidoe cables, carrying case), but not worth the money in my opinion.

Good DVD Player if you get a deal
Strengths: Sleek, good looking, plays PAL and NTSC
Weaknesses: sceen a bit small, motor makes a lot of noise, battery heats up while charging, no input port for games
Summary: The player looks very good for the price. Sceen is small but clear. Motor makes a lot of noise at times. The best part is that I could play play a DVD from Asia without touching any settings, player seems to be region free!!!!

Strengths: Picture quality, sound and compatability
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: This is a very good portable DVD player with very good picture and can read any format DVDs (I tried DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW). I do not have any problem with it so far, but I am little worried about the durability as I friend had a Coby DVD standalone writer that failed in 2 months.
