Strengths: Good
Weaknesses: Contrast and Brightness adjusments are not linear
Summary: I bought this from PC Connection and used it for couple of days. Picture is very bright( Back light) but colors are not very colorful as expected. I have 19" Acer , Samsung Dell LCDs, but this is not as good as Samsung, the best I have. But this has a digital input which is the best feature that other models don't have (among Models that I have). This is very cheap so color problems are not that much matters unless the monitor is used for color sensitive work. For general use this is more than enough. This is specially ideal for rooms where the room light conditions are brighter. Control buttons are little confusing but easy to handle once used to it. Speakers are not important at all. Monitor has two dead pixels and company wont replace that unless it is more than 7 (Got the information from PC Connection. Anyway for $ 115 with three years warranty, this is the best deal I have ever have done . . . . Pubudu.

Strengths: Price, 110V and 220V
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This LCD monitor rocks. Great price after rebates. I have not found a LCD cheaper than this HC-194D in this category. I am exteremely happy with this. I would recommend this device for purchase.
Picture quality is good, no dead-pixels, good refersh ration.

 Forget the rebate Strengths: Excellent picture, deep colors, good black/white contrast
Weaknesses: Only adjusts up/down.
Summary: Big problem is forget the rebate, Buy it foe the price, you will probably never receive the rebate. I did not after 12 months. It doesn't seem to matter what store you buy from either. Check the reviews.

Strengths: Good LCD. Includes both DVI and VGA cables, and of course the power supply cable.
Weaknesses: Mail in rebate.
Summary: Like others, I've had great difficult getting the rebate for this product. I purchased it in late October 2006, and submitted my rebate per the instructions. I've done enough rebates in my life to know to keep a copy of everything and watch the clock - if the rebate says call if you do not receive it in 12 weeks, I start following up on the 13th week. It's now April, and I still haven't received my $100 rebate.
In late February, I inquired about my rebate on the website listed in the rebate (can't state it per pricegrabber guidelines). No response. I inquired again a week later. No response. I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Borough (BBB) in Ohio, as PC Connection (where I bought the LCD) is in Ohio. I inquired a third time, and then I received a reply to my second inquiry stating: "We have been processing rebates for our client Wintergreen. They received an overwhelming response to their offer, and as a result, payment of the rebates has been delayed. They would like for us to extend to you their sincere apologies and to let you know that they will send you your rebate as soon as possible. Rest assured that they are working diligently to get you the money you rightfully deserve." I replied to them asking for an ETA, and I received the exact same reply, verbatim, with no ETA.
The rebate website now states: "Please be advised: Parago, Inc. is a provider of rebate processing services for its clients. As a rebate processor, Parago works on behalf of Wintergreen Systems to receive mail, perform data entry services, receive customer service calls, print checks, and perform other services associated with its promotions. For the submission in question, Parago performed data entry on the submission, and forwarded the information to Wintergreen Systems for approval and funding. To date, Parago has not received such approval and funding from Wintergreen Systems. Until Wintergreen Systems forwards additional funding for the promotion in question to Parago, Parago will not be able to mail any additional consumers checks under the promotions. We apologize for any frustration this has caused, and will process the reward as soon as we are provided the required funding and approval by Wintergreen Systems. In the interim, we suggest you contact Wintergreen Systems directly, at:

All that said, the good news is the BBB contacted PC Connection (three times it seems) and PC Connection replied:
We're terribly sorry for the delays in the payment of this rebate. This was due to a funding conflict between the manufacturer and the rebate fulfillment company. We have issued the $100 refund in the form of credit to the customer's credit card used for the purchase (Visa ending in xxxx).
Again, our sincerest apologies for the delay and resulting inconvenience.

The moral is: Save your paperwork, hound them if you don't receive your rebate, and complain to the BBB if that doesn't work!

 REBATE RIP OFF Strengths: Nice monitor for 120.00 (If I got rebate).
Weaknesses: There is no rebate.
Summary: Sent in rebate info four months ago,it was validated via e-mail,now four months and many e-mails later,no rebate and now they dont answer my e-mails.
Pc connection and rebate HQ should be ashamed of themselves.This was my first purchase from PC Connection,a big disapointment.

Strengths: Great picture, supports VGA and DVI, solid base, picture clearly visible from most horizontal angles, GREAT VALUE
Weaknesses: Adjustments of base are limited, picture not very visible from many vertical angles
Summary: 2006-07-03 10:29:37 For the price, I think this 19" LCD monitor is a great buy. I've had no troubles with this monitor, and it outperforms the DELL 19" LCDs that I've used at work.
I highly recommend this product. I've rated this 4 stars because it's not the BEST monitor (see weaknesses), but in terms of VALUE, I'd give this 5 stars without question.

Rebate Ripoff
Strengths: Monitor seems fine.
Weaknesses: Rebate is designed to be a rip-off.
Summary: I bought this monitor from PC Connection a few weeks ago, primarily on the basis of (1) the large rebate and (2) the consistenty good on-line reviews it had received.
After receiving the monitor, I went through the laborious process of on-line rebate registration followed by mailing all the usual information (why have on-line registration if you have to mail everything anyhow) as directed to Wintergreen Systems in Miami, Fl.
Today I received e-mail notice disallowing my rebate because ". . . e-mail confirmation is invalid for submission" and they require the packing slip instead (never mentioned in the instructions)!
Do NOT buy this monitor if you expect a rebate!!!

Summary: Bought it for the price with rebates but it's well worth the full price. Clear picture and even clear text from across the room. No complaints yet, especially if I get the rebates I sent in for.

Strengths: Bright Display. Good Contrast.
Weaknesses: Have not found any yet. I do not use its speakers so can't comment on those.
Summary: I have a 19" HiEnd Samsung and use this monitor next to it. Guess what? I like this display better. Plays movies just fine as well. I paid $460 for the Samsung, $120 for this one after shipping. Got my rebate just fine.

Summary: Probably not the best LCD, but a great value for $110. PCConnection delivery was FAST (36 hours). I ordered a jump drive also and they attempted delivery 13 hours after ordering!!! WOW!

 Rebates are always fun Strengths: Descent picture, no broken peices upon arrival, 2 weeks delivery time
Weaknesses: it blinks for the first 2 minutes of operation, very small distortions with text
Summary: Let's face it, if you are buying this model you better be getting the rebate. Mine is $120 after rebate and bought from PC Connection. So I got a postcard saying we've rejected your rebate because you forgot to include 6 of the 6 things they ask for. I called them up, pretty sure it's India, and supposedly the guy fixed it on his end. The automated service says that now my rebate is valid so we'll see in 5 weeks or so. If this model were any more expensive than $120 I'd pass. There is just far to many other higher end models out there for not that much more. And of course if you can avoid a rebate BUY IT NOW! Stop reading this and BUY IT!

Summary: I had a bad experience with HU-196D, something similar to this. I bought that mainly because of its $100 MIR which cut the price lower than other brand. Unfortunately, I haven't receive my MIR even after 4 months. The same problem happened to many people so I have to call rebateshq many times to confirm my rebate. Even now I am still arguing this matter. That is not all. The monitor has serious defect when I got it. There are many lines on screen. I call their customer service many times and they first asked me to upgrade vidoe card driver and finally agree to let me return it. They asked me to send it to their company at my own cost without reimbursing me and it is just for repairing. I hate to buy this cheap monitor acutally not cheap.

Strengths: SIZE 19inch is always nice, CONNECTION DVI is nice as well, PRICE under $200... it's a steal
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: Works great, i have seen other users remark that the controls are a CON. I have not once changed the controls, if i have problems in game, i'll change the settings there. Overall this is the best monitor for it's price range.

HannsG and many reviewers hare may be the part of a mega scam!
Strengths: The ability to lure customers
Weaknesses: They are very strong together with RebatesHQ in ripping people so no weaknesses!!
Summary: What can explain the non arrival of NO checks from these saints about 3 months after submission of MIR form etc. and 4 followups on the phone? The monitor is not worth $220 that I paid for it in absence of the MIRs provided. It is actually a very cheap monitor with cheap plastic body and even cheaper results. The dates these guys are promising for a Sep 06 purchase is Feb 07 for the $100 check. Has anyone actually received a check from these guys? How can someone get away with this?
