Strengths: Picture size, color quailty
Weaknesses: Weight
Summary: A family member researched plasma TV's and purchased the 42" Panasonic. As he is the techno person, I followed his lead, but went for the 58" model, as our living room is larger. I encourage folks to go with the largest screen they can afford, as it does make a difference! The colors, clarity, etc. are terrific. As mine is wired into a surround sound system, I cannot comment on the TV's audio. Due to the 147# weight, I had a professional install the set, and it's worth every penny.

Strengths: Good overall picture quality, both HD and SD. I currently have a 42" Philips Plasma and this TV has the same HD picture quality. However, the SD picture quality on this TV is much better.
Weaknesses: The silver case does not look good in my HT setup. I wish it could be black like Pioneer or Samsung Plasma.
Summary: 2007-05-23 09:02:44 I got this TV at a great price from one of the featured merchant of Pricegrabber.com. The TV is SO BIG when I received it, much bigger than I thought. I'm happy that I bought this over the 50 incher. With the current close-out deal, I strongly recommend to everyone looking for the best HomeTheather experience. Size does matter !!!. The picture quality is very good. The sound is awesome comparing to my current Philips Plasma. I only wish that the case is black color instead of silver. New Panasonic Models are black, but they are way more expensive, not worth it in my opinion. Overall, I really like the TV. My best TV ever... The more I watch this TV .. the more I'm in love with it. I think the picture gets better after a few weeks used and some calibration. Watching KCET HD is like you are looking at the picture in real life. The picture with SD feed from my DishNetwork is also awesome. I strongly recommend this TV. I was a bit skeptical regarding Panasonic Plasma before but now I'm convinced. Panasonic makes great Plasma. Actually, the best plasma on the market. None of my friends' plasmas from other manufacturers (..) can complete with this one in term of picture quality. Period

Strengths: Very clear and sharp picture. Many user options available such as multiple individual timers, inputs/outputs (front and rear) and easily programmed.
Weaknesses: Really very heavy. Remote control is a little difficult to master and needs a button just for Video selection. When hung on a wall, it is very hard (takes two people) to make rear connection changes.
Summary: Overall, it is a fantastic television. A compact and beautiful set. Big change from the 12 year old 46 inch projection set that finally failed. It is not for the faint of heart as far as cost as it has just about two of everything (video input 1 & 2, HDMI inputs 1 & 2, R/L audio outputs 1 & 2, S video 1 & 2, PC input) as well as other single inputs/outputs.

Strengths: Terrific picture, even not in HD
Nice looking television
Weaknesses: Bottom juts out making wall installation a challenge
Closed caption is a little challenging
Summary: I have a Panasonic and a Samsung plasma. Each has strengths and weaknesses, but the Panasonic has a much better picture of a non-HD signal. The remote is easy and works well. Sound is good.
Issues include that the bottom of the television is thick and it is impossible to tilt the television downward more than a few degrees as the bottom hits the back wall. Also, the closed caption is unclear when it is turned on versus off. We watch much with it on and it takes multiple selections to make this part work. Finally, the power button turns red when on, which is the oppositte of most systems and a little confusing.
Overall, these are minor nits on a very good television.

Strengths: Picture Quality, Sound, design
Weaknesses: Very Heavy, Remote is not user friendly
Summary: Very Sleek design, Great Picture quality and best of all this one is priced very reasonably. We were initially going to buy the 60U but saw that this one had a lot of extras and was worth the extra two hundred dollars. So far we are very pleased with the quality

Strengths: Very Good picture quality in both HD and SD after caliberation. Has got great speakers which is good enough for regular cabel channels. Low price as compared to other 58" or higher plasma TVs
Weaknesses: It is not 1080P TV. Very heavy. May require to install firmaware patches to fix problem with digital tuner.
Summary: I have been waiting for to buy a 58" plasma TV and it was on sale at datavis.com for $2099 and pulled the trigger. The item arrived in 3 days after ordering. Even though it was a curbside delivery I was able to pay the driver to bring it inside the home and set it up (just for $40.00 ). Ran the break-in DVD for 100 hours and enjoying the TV now. HD channes are awesome and most SD channels are good. For the price it is a great TV.

Strengths: Picture is bright and sharp. The speakers are well designed, small but powerfull and clear. Excellent color
Weaknesses: It is difficult to reach to reach the cable connectors when the TV already hang on the wall
Summary: Over all this TV is deserved an A in term of quality and price. I've been searching around for 58-60 inch plasma but I couldn't find any that offers the same quality and fits our budget like this one.

Strengths: Looks really great, Speaker are ok if you dont need theater quality. Very clear, has all the bells and whistles.
Weaknesses: None, just very heavy about 200 pounds with pedestal
Summary: This is a very nice plasma TV. Looks way better than the TH-58PX60U model, and has more feathers like PnP and TV guide, cable card ready (needs no set top cable box). This is my first Plasma TV and it is just awesome. The only difference from old rear projection type is that plasma require a lot of extras like Plasma table stand or wall mounts, HD everything, quality cables, Home theater system etc. Be ready to spend a lot more than just the plasma it self if you want the best quality for your money. So if you got the money and time to spend for a great plasma TV then this one is my pick to you.

Strengths: Large clear screen, excellent picture and sound quality
Weaknesses: Pretty heavy unit makes wall mounting near impossible
Summary: This is my first plasma TV and I'm glad I got the 58" screen. A relative bought a 42" plasma from another mfr and it looked small, and I'm sure she's jealous of mine now. Watching even regular DVDs the picture clarity and color is gorgeous. The curbside delivery guy even helped me carry it into the living room for a small gratuity. Don't bother getting 1080p as you can't tell it from 720p. I'm glad I got the 600u instead of the 60u model because the higher output speakers (especially bass) is really good for TV speakers. I couldn't be happier overall.

Strengths: Very Very best picture from Plasma in this price range, period. The TV looks sleak, more than sleak, use the work "gorgeous" to explain what I mean.
Weaknesses: Nothing so far, except lighter ? no, not for this kinda big TV.
Summary: If you are looking for bigscreen this size, go for Panasonic, and go for 710p, since you cannot tell the difference between this and 1080p, why spend money on that non-sense ? save your money for dvds !

Strengths: Size, Picture & Color Clarity
Weaknesses: Weight
Summary: I've had this plasma for about a week now and it is incredible. I purchased it from one of the online merchants, and everything went smoothly. The picture quality is amazing and Panasonic definately makes the best plasmas on the market today. Would highly recommend this TV.
