Strengths: SEND SHOWS TO HARD DRIVE ONLY COPY THE ONE YOU WANT TO SAVE TO DVD EASY TO ERASE SHOWS
Weaknesses: ONLY USES DVD-R DISC FOR RECORDING BUT IF YOU DONT RECORD TO DVD NO CONCERN JUST USE HARD DRIVE TO SAVE SHOWS

Strengths: I can't find anything I don't like about this unit. VERY NICE
Weaknesses: Can be complicated at first, but after use start using it a bit.. You won't be displeased.
Summary: So far very compatible. Having the HDD built in is the best. I start a vhs movie in the morning and dub it to the hdd. then at night I review on high speed, delete / break apart different events on the same tape and then pick which scenes I want burnt to the DVD.. Start the burn and goto bed... Restart the process then next morning.. Easiest way to dub your movies over.. You won't be displeased. You will need to review the booklet at times to see how to use the features, but if you give it a chance, I guarantee you'll be happy.
