Strengths: Quiet running, great tasting water & ice, lots of fridge storage.
Weaknesses: Wish Freezer was larger, but that's the drawback to side by sides. Replacement water filters are a bit pricey. Stainless doors show fingerprints easily.
Summary: I ran the water line myself from the basement using copper tubing before delivery. Delivery and setup by Home Depot took just a few minutes. The delivery guys said that the first batch of ice and the first few gallons of water have to be discarded because of the impurities in the new lines. After the first 24 hours I have the best tasting drinking water and ice that I ever had. This unit makes cubes and crushed ice and has a night light option for the water and ice dispenser. The fridge side has plenty of storage space, freezer is a bit smaller than I would like. The unit runs quiet. I priced replacement water filters and they can run between $35.00 - $45.00 each. Best price I found was a place on ebay that sold them in lots of 6 for about $27.00 each-including shipping. (Make sure you stick with the PUR ones designed for this appliance.) Fortunately the replacement filters last about 6 months and the shelf life of replacement filters is indefinite. So far absolutely no problems at all. I purchased the 2 year extended warranty from Home Depot for $59.00. The stainless steel is only on the front of the appliance. The sides are black colored, but that's OK with me because the stainless steel requires a lot of maintenance to keep it looking clean. I would recommend this fridge to anyone. It's well built and is an excellent choice and value for those of us with "champagne tastes on beer budgets!"
