Strengths: state of the art
Weaknesses: price, battery life
Summary: Have been using the smartphone for the past week, and I'm still amazed at what it can do. Access email, internet at DSL speeds, on the largest smartphone screen out there (320x240). If you search for SERO sprint, this phone is basically free (rebates) with the lowest plan out there from Sprint.

Strengths: easy to handle, crystal clear screen
Weaknesses: bluetooth not so clear, did not come with miniSD card
Summary: At first glance, this phone is clumsy big. However, after using it for a week, I found it convenient to operate. You can choose different display layout and wallpaper. My plan also comes with unlimited internet access. It is like using a mobile computer. Awesome!

Strengths: Thin and stylish
Weaknesses: a lot of softwares designed for windows mobile 5 can not be installed in Motorola Q
Summary: The quaility of the Built in camera is not good, although it has a built in flash. However, the sound is satisfied when you play the MP3 music. You can only set one alarm. And the LCD is beatiful and big enough to watch movies.

Strengths: Thin, Light, QWERTY Keyboard, Nice Screen, Attractive Design, MiniSD Slot
Weaknesses: Retail Price (Though Deals can be had, if signing long contract)
Summary: This is my first "Smart Phone" and I am very glad that took the jump. This phone is thin and light. Though a bit wide, the width is necessary for its functionality. So, overall, it's a great size.

I have heard complaints about the battery, but so far, it seems to last me 1-2 days. However, I would suggest purchasing another battery for worry free use.

The screen is large and sharp looking. It does smudge easily and has a glare in most lighting. If you dont like completely covering your phone in a skin, I would suggest purchasing a screen protector that just sticks onto the screen. It keeps it smudge free, limits the glare, and will give peace of mind from scratching your beautiful display.

The Motorola Q has so many features to list in my review. However, its media capabilities are endless (especially when having an added 2gb MiniSD installed. Email, Web Surfing, Playing Games, Taking Pictures, Working on Documents, etc etc.

Great Phone. Definitely look into getting a data/web plan through your wireless carrier if you are planning on getting this phone. That's where the true power is with the Q.

Strengths: One-handed use ; Thin and light
Weaknesses: standby battery life is short; keyboard keys is stiff
Summary: The phone layout is great. The keys are in a good location which makes it much less stressful on the thumbs to type. The MotoQ also has optimized the features for people who need to be connected via voice, email, and web. It is a very good phone with superior call quality. The bluetooth and speakerphone are the best I've used. Some issues with this phone is not pleasant though. First, you can't edit documents (word, excel, powerpoint). You can only view them. Second, the attachment file in the email can't be saved to the storage card. Generally speaking, it is still a pretty good smartphone

    2 Months
Strengths: Slim, but wide. MiniSD allows for future memory expansion. Great Design. Good speakerphone. MP3. Internet with EVDO. Beautiful Screen!
Weaknesses: No built-in Wifi, as of now does not support Wifi miniSD cards. Camera could be higher resolution. Must purchase data plan to use this phone to it's fullest potential. Battery could be better.
Summary: I've owned this phone for almost 2 months and I am still 100% satisfied with the purchase.

However, I did have to receive a replacement phone because the 1st one was defective. The 1st unit would shut itself down all the time and the only way to turn it back on would be to pull out the battery and reinsert it and turn the phone back on. This is a known defect among many of the initial Motorola Q's that were released. If your Q does this, exchange it immediately for a new one.

Now to the phone. The phone is versatile with it's built in windows media player, camera, internet, and miniSD slot. You can use POP email settings to get GMAIL and there's a new Yahoo! Go program built for smartphones, so you can also use that to sync up your yahoo mail.

The coolest thing I have for this phone is the Sling Mobile Player. If you own a Slingbox, you can watch TV on your phone (if you have the data plan). Basically, I can watch my TV (even my TiVo) from my Q.

I use this phone at work as my MP3 player. I have a 2GB miniSD with over 200 songs and I plug in earphones through the headset (you need the proper 2.5 to 3.5 adapter).

I frequently use the phone to surf the web. The full QWERY keyboard is nice (kind of spaced tight to fit all the letters). Browsing speed can vary. But if you live in an EVDO coverage area, then you should be pretty safe with DSL like internet speeds. If you do not live in an EVDO area, then expect your internet speeds to be very slow.

Overall, it's a great phone. But beware of defective units and if you are not willing to pay for the data plan I would not recommend this phone to you.

3 Star ReviewGood phone because of size. Really bad phone for PDA functions.
Strengths: Small, thin and light. Good call quality. EDVO
Weaknesses: NO COPY, CUT & PASTE. Need to push more buttons to complete a task. Battery Life sucks. No Java, so no Google maps. No touchscreen and no Office application except Outlook.
Summary: Ok, basically this phone has more cons than pros. But guess what I will still keep the phone regardless since I'm not a road warrior. I don't really need a PDA. I just need to make phone calls and check my work e-mail which this one does. Size really matters as some say. I wear dress pants to go to work and I don't like belt clips, they get in the way. I had a Treo 600 and 650 before and they weight down my pants. This phone is nice and thin and that is the main reason I'm keeping it and instead of exchanging for a Treo 700w. Well what shock me is that they left the most basic thing out.......COPY, CUT & PASTE. My Razr had and that is not a Smartphone. I guess this phone is not so smart. You can view office documents, with this viewing program, but you can't edit them. They didn't feel like giving you an editing program as in the treos. Battery life will not last a day if you do some surfing on the web and checking e-mail all the time. Mine die out on me in less than 13 hrs. But I tried it without going on the web and it did last a day. Of course call quality is good since it's a Motorola. Get this phone if you want style and mind a big phone in your pocket. If you need a lot of PDA function get the Treos. They're made for that. Hope my reviews helps out.

Strengths: Very slim & has a big screen. It has a MiniSD slot for extra memory
Weaknesses: No built-in Wifi
Summary: I am very satisfied with this phone. Not only it has a very nice design but it has a lot of great features in it.

I don't even need an iPod because I can use this phone as my MP3 player. I use this phone a lot to go to the internet and check my Yahoo and Gmail email accounts.

2 Star ReviewThis is one Q 007 will not be carrying
Strengths: 1. Form factor 2. Screen resolution 3. Price
Weaknesses: 1. Battery life 2. Instability 3. OS
Summary: Having been a faithful Treo user, all the way from the brickstyle Treo 300, I finally jump ship to Windows Mobile. Style and form factor, the Q definitely is refreshing to use compared to the dated, fatty Treo 650 which was my previous smartphone. Screen resolution is gorgeous, watching movies the Q's screen is a joy. However, the battery life leaves a lot to be desire. If you don't charge your Q nightly, expect to be left stranded. And even if you do charge nightly, using the Q's data service quite often to pull emails, or listen to music, movies will drain your battery PDQ. I don't know if it's an isolated incident but my Q often locks up and requires removal of battery to reset. This happens at least once a week therefore this device will be returned to the store in the days coming.

Strengths: looks, functionality, windows mobile
Weaknesses: battery life
Summary: The phone looks great and is very small. It is very easy to use. The active sync is simple, all you need to do is plug the usb cable and it will sync. Programs are easy to install. Double click on the file while synced and it will install onto the phone by itself. The windows mobile is great as well. The only con is battery life. Does not last a day. But there are extended batteries out there for better battery life, or just get a spare battery.

2 Star ReviewAverage or less
Strengths: tough
Weaknesses: battery, camera, slow OS
Summary: It has been durable withstanding a few drops. Unfortunately going to a phone without a touchscreen makes slow to browse and change programs. Response times also lag, such as waiting for screen changes. You also have to buy a larger battery to make it last though the day which then puts a bulge on the back making it much thicker. I also miss the ability to security lock documents without locking the whole phone.

Strengths: syncs very easily to all your contacts, emails, task, calendar, etc... Windows based OS allows you to run multiple applications very quickly. Thin in comparison to other smartphones
Weaknesses: qwerty styled keypad can give you issues, people with bigger fingers can push wrong button easily
Summary: I have used this phone for some time now and I love it. I had to carry a phone and a pda and now I have them both. It isn't perfect, but for my needs and budget, it is the best decision I could've made.
