Strengths: easy to access different shooting modes.
user-friendly for beginners.
Weaknesses: the pictures sometimes seem blur when the camera is not held still in the close-up mode .
Summary: this Kodak camera is really designed for beginners.
a digital camera novice will definitely not have any difficulty figuring how to capturing pictures or transfering them to the computer.
Also, compared to other cameras in its 4MP- range, it offers a very competitive price, just around 200$.

Weaknesses: None
Summary: I like how easy it was to learn to use. At first I was unhappy with how fast it went through the batteries but once I bought rechargeable batteries there were no more problems. Also you just cant beat the quality of product you get for your money.

Strengths: Very easy to use
Weaknesses: no weaknesses
Summary: I was in the market for an EASY digital camera. Consumer Reports ranks the EasyShare line very high, so I went with their recommendation. I also asked around in many different stores and picked the brains of the camera sales associates. It is a very easy camera to operate and takes very sharp pictures. I would recommend this to anyone who is a first time digital camera user, like myself.

Summary: 2004-07-26 17:05:52 I bought it at $229 at Amazon. Overall, I would say CX7430 is a good choice for amateur users. The 4 MP sensor guarantied the quality of pictures. The user friendly design reduces the probability to take a no good picture by operating it improperly, such as no enough exposure compensation or using the wrong mode. Other attributes, such as lens, short movie recording, etc, are pretty common functions that you can have with any major 3MP-4MP digital cameras.
If you are looking for affordable, easy to use 4MP camera, this one is a good choice. Don’t forget to carry some AA batteries when you travel!
User friendly.
As Kodak always, this camera is very user friendly. Once you switch into another mode, you will be prompted, such as “sport: use when target is in motion”. Furthermore, the what you see what you get “color science chip” make it easier for amateur users. For example, you can adjust exposure compensation simply by press left and right buttons located just around the ok button, and the preview of the exposure compensation effect will be displayed in the LCD panel.
Battery life.
CX7430 allow user to use affordable AA batteries. But different from others such as Canon A70, CX7430 uses only two AA batteries, which make the battery life looks relatively short. Furthermore, if you want to save money by using rechargeable batteries, the problem becomes even more serious, since the rechargeable batteries are working at 1.2-1.25V, instead of 1.5V as the regular AA batteries. In order to deal with the battery power problem, this model is configured into a “super energy saving” mode when shipped from Kodak. When you turn on the camera, the LCD won’t turn on unless you press the ok button, and the LCD will automatically shut off if no button pressed for one or two minutes. This energy saver is good, but sometimes annoying.

Strengths: Inexpensive for a 4.0 mega pixal camera. Easy to use.
Weaknesses: Needed to buy a bigger SD card
Summary: So far I'm pretty satisfied with this camera. The plastic shell came apart when I took it to a baseball game, but I think someone dropped it when I was getting nachos. It was easily fixed though *S* It's a nice camera for everyday use, and with the help of Photoshop, it may make the pictures look better. It's not for taking professional pictures, and could use a bigger memory card, but a good overall buy nonetheless.

Strengths: Amazing image quality. Extereme ease of use.
Weaknesses: Software is not the most user friendly. Red-eye could be a little better.
Summary: I decided it was time to purchase a new digital camera. My goal was to find a camera that had simplisty and the intelligence to produce a quality image no matter what the circumstance. I'm happy to admit the CX7430 actually fits the mold. This camera offfers 4 megapixels power with the simplisity of a basic point-and-shoot. I've only taken family pictures so far, but I have been impressed. Also, this camera functions on batteries. The menu is as simple or complex as a wireless phone. It also has a delete button once the picture is taken. Again simplisity and quality.

Summary: I have been using Kodak digital cameras since 2000, and this one is simply great. It is very easy to use and the file transfer is so fast and easy to do. The battery lasts for a long long time. The only thing you need is the extra memory if you want to go for travel or take the movies.

Strengths: best specs for the price
Weaknesses: not as sharp as Konica/Minolta 5 mp camera I have
Summary: I think as a starter camera you can not get better specs for the money. There are cameras I like better but they would be twice the money, a great camera for a teenager too.
