Strengths: Great deep bass sound, hits lows very well, made of excellent quality materials, reinforced rim constructed of rubber to create more ridgidity, connecting posts are high quality and durable.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: I burned my last subwoofer because it could not handle the RMS rating of my amp. So I did alot of searching and finally ended up looking into the Alpine Type S sub. After some further research I came to the conclusion that this sub is perfect for my amp's power. I bought it, and installed it in my Prelude and I turned on my stereo and wow!! This sub can hit lows very well and it's crystal clear! For someone on a budget that wants to get excellent bass sound this is the way to go! It's not earth-shattering bass like the competition subs but it exceeds in getting what you want from it, pure crystal clear bass sound. I am very satisfied with the results and will definitely consider another Alpine sub if I decide I want to upgrade. The Type R / Type X seem to be the next level however I doubt I will one day be disatisfied with this subwoofer. Alpine rocks! ;)
