Strengths: Easy to set up. works great with USB. USB 2.0 is faster than firewire.
Weaknesses: Case is aluminum colored plastic. did not try firewire. not compatible with SATA.
Summary: Works great for getting files of HD on crashed computer and for backup. 4x faster than using network. Plug and play compatibility with Windows 2000 and XP and drivers for Win 98 and MAC. add your own ATA IDE Hard drive in any format.

1 Star ReviewThis enclosure requires that the hard drive jumper ...
Strengths: Simple to use if you remember to set the correct jump settings. Has power on/off switch.
Weaknesses: Requires "master" jumper setting. Not able to support larger hard drives.
Summary: This enclosure requires that the hard drive jumper setting is set to master while others other specification of "cable select". In addition, apparently, this enclosure does not support any hard drives which require more power than around .5 Amps. I have a 250GB Western Digital hard drive which requires .9 A (assuming I am reading the info correctly) and it seems like this does not provide enough power to spin the hard drive. The 200GB Western Digital hard drive (requiring .45 A) works ok.
