Strengths: Excellent over-clocking board with
solid caps, Gigabit Ehternet, SATA RAID
Weaknesses: Different audio chips used depending on mobo version, Over-clock voltage on memory goes from 2.1v to 2.4v via jumper. No Raid 5
Summary: This is a solid board for a reasonable price for the AMD AM2 platform.
Running an Athlon X2 4400+ at 10x multi with a 300mhz cpu bus for 3 ghz. Completely stable with no issues running XP pro.
This board has "built in" OC options, with names listed as V-6 (stock settings), V-8, V-10 and V-12, V-12 being the highest preset OC option. However, I recommend against using the built in OC options as they increase the CPU voltage way more then needed. On the V-12 option the preset increased the CPU voltage over 1.55 volts, considerably higher then needed. This seems to be a trait with Biostar boards and there preset OC/voltage options. However, the BIOS contains all the necessary options to manually push an inexpensive CPU to the limit.
Also, I have noticed that voltages /temps reported are slightly higher then actual, about 5%.
Also, the onboard audio chip on my board (Ver 6) is an ALC 888 (7.1 + 2), while I've noticed that they seem to be changing pretty often as it looks like the newer versions are using the ALC850 (7.1). Not a huge deal unless your a audio enthusiast like myself.
Overall an excellent board if your looking for a solid over-clocking AM2 board with out all the frills
