3rd Time a Charm???

Strengths: Clear picture, good sound

Weaknesses: I have had problems with 2 of the same model in the past

Summary: I purchased the 1st one in March 2006. In October 2006, it would not work with the battery. It would work plugged into the wall but not with the battery. I called Polaroid and got a new battery. That didn't work either. They sent me another battery which was the incorrect model and informed me that I would have to send it back at MY EXPENSE and they would send me the correct one. They are the ones that sent me the wrong battery. Anyway, we purchased the same DVD recorder in November 2006. After using it two times, the picture went out on it. The sound could be heard but NO picture. Returned it. We went and purchased another one somewhere else and this time we purchased it with an additional 4 year protection plan. It is a great player as long as it plays. Hopefully, 3rd time is a charm and they have worked out the kinks on this thing. At least we have an additional warranty on this one.

Problem out of box

Strengths: The picture quality seems good.

Weaknesses: Sound volume capability and sound clarity not the best.

Summary: Advise caution. The unit is supposed to play audio Cd's but have tried 10 different Cd's and it will not play them; we consistently receive bad disk notice. Although it did play DVD it was tempermental. Sometimes would not load DVD and gave "bad disk" error message (on same DVD that it had played earlier or faulted during playing.)

Taking back under warranty and hopeful that this was a rare quality control exception.
