Strengths: Speed! & Software for recovery of data
Weaknesses: None, worth the price.
Summary: People tried to tell me that the Extreme III wasn't worth the money, but I really wanted to cut the lag on my digital camera and it was worth the shot to me. I can say that I am "extremely" statisfied with the performance. The first time I powered up my Canon SD800IS with this card in, I was amazed at not only the startup time being cut, but also the almost no "busy" time in access to the card. That alone is worth the price.
The second reason I wanted this product was for the recovery program. I've owned other SanDisk cards that had corruption problems and I tried finding programs off the internet that allowed for the recovery, but none of them worked for me. I haven't used the program yet, but I think it was something that pushed me to go for this purchase because it was bundled in and I hope tested to work easily.
The only neg I have is the case that is included. I have no use for it and would have rather had them delete the inclusion and take it out of the price.
Overall, the speed boost I saw in my SD800 was justification enough in the price for me.

Strengths: Fast write speed. Reliable company
Weaknesses: Cost. There are others that are cheaper
Summary: Overall I am very Happy with this SD card. I tried it with the Canon SD800I that I borrowed from my sister (I am purchasing an SD800I after trying it out as well) and it works great. Write speed was outstanding. Like what I said, the major draw back was the cost. However, there was a rebate that made the price a little better.

Strengths: Fast writting and reading speed, light..
Weaknesses: Nil.
Summary: I used this card on my Nikon D40, it works fine and i never experienced any hiccup from this card. It is a good choice for high-resolution DSLR camera and it has 20Mb/sec writting and reading speed. This is a perfect match for the professional photographer who always capturing snapshots with high resolution RAW file. You will not go anyway wrong with this card.

Strengths: Very fast and reliable card.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I purchased this card for a 2500 motorcycle touring trip to Missouri and back. It performed flawlessly even exposed to a somewhat rough environment. Using a 10 Gig camera I was able to take more pictures and video, without downloading, than I was able to capture.

Strengths: fast, good price for its performance
Weaknesses: none
Summary: The title of this review says it all. Although "standard" SD cards may be at just about giveaway prices today, if you have a new fast, high-megapixel DSLR camera, its performance will suffer unless you use the fastest SD cards available, such as the SanDisk Extreme III. Think not only in terms of capturing multiple pictures in the shortest time your camera is capable of, but later, when it comes time to transfer the day's shoot over to your computer.
In addition, its generous 2 GB size mean more high-res .jpg or RAW images can be stored before running out of storage space.
Oh yes, this card performs exactly as expected. I'll leave the slower or smaller capacity cards to the less demanding point 'n' shoots.

Extreme PRICE!
Strengths: Small, holds 2 gigs
Weaknesses: 20 Mbps speed is just as fast, if not slightly slower than my Transcend 20 Mbps 2 gig SD card.
Summary: I bought a Transcend 2 gig SD card rated at 150x a year ago. It worked amazingly well in my Nikon D50. I could continuously shoot without the buffer running out. I then recently bought this Extreme III card, which is also rated at 150x, thinking that maybe the price and it's popular name might mean that it outperforms the cheaper Transcend memory card. I was sadly mistaken and should have gone with my gut instinct. Most of the time, they performed exactly the same!! Transfer to my computer was just as fast between the 2, but when I went to take shots, the buffer hiccuped while using the Extreme III. How friggin ridiculous is that. All that money and yet it can't keep up with the budget brand?
From now on, it's only Transcend 150x 2 gig SD cards for me. Can't beat the price or the performance. Many professionals that I know have found this out as well and say the same.

Strengths: Dependability, durability, SanDisk quality
Weaknesses: Some access speed is unavailable to standard applications, price is high
Summary: More storage, faster data transfer speeds — these are the strengths of this SD memory card. I've been a longtime SanDisk user and prefer the higher-priced Ultra II — and now Extreme III — SD cards over the entry-priced cards. Why? Because both the time writing to and transferring data from the disk is vastly superior. Don't believe me? Try an Ultra II when next you buy a memory card. You'll be impressed enough to want to move up to the Extreme III, especially if you're a pro and advanced amateur.

Strengths: Fastest sustain write speed
Weaknesses: More expensive
Summary: This card has the fastest write speed of RAW file for my Nikon D80. It caps at 8.34 MB/sec; the next closer one is Sandisk Extreme III 1 Gig version, which offers 7.86 MB/sec. Also included from the package are RescuePro for recovering and Phase one RAW workflow software. Currently, there is a $20 manufacture rebate which makes this a sweet deal.

SanDisk Extreme III SD Card
Strengths: Prompt shipping.
Weaknesses: The card would not format.
Summary: Was it a lemon or part of a batch sold online because they didn't meet quality standards? Fortunately we found a replacement at Staples. Very costly in the long run. Sign me disgusted in Ohio.

Strengths: works well in cold dry alpine environments
Weaknesses: quite a bit more expensive than lesser alternatives
Summary: So far this card has worked very well for my applications. I primarily use it while hiking and climbing in adverse conditions. After the ice climbing season, I'll have an even better evaluation to give it I'm sure!

Extreme ? Extreme what?
Strengths: It is a San Disk
Weaknesses: the cost of being EXTREME
Summary: I guess I missed something in buying this card, I thought it was suppose to be a real fast card, I have not noticed it being any faster than the lower priced cards I have purchased in the past. It works fine - still no better or worse than the other cards from San Disk that cost much less.

Strengths: fast read/write speed, tons of memory space, good brand
Weaknesses: Pretty expensive, but if you shop around you can find a good price
Summary: I bought the memory card and I am very happy with it. I have not had any problems with it and I recommend it to all my friends who want a reliable card with lots of memory space. I have not compared my camera use with a regular sd card and the extreme III, but I think that would be a very interesting test. But I can say that my camera starts up very quickly and reviewing pictures is very fast as well. This card works well with my canon sd800is.

Strengths: Reliable.
Weaknesses: Pricey.
Summary: Basically just wanted a 2 GB card I could have a lot of confidence in. I rely on it to store all of my business data so if my laptop fails while traveling I can use any computer without interruption.

Strengths: Speed, software
Weaknesses: Price
Summary: I purchased this SD chip when I purchased my new Kodak digital camera. This is definitely the high-end SD chip and it is priced accordingly.
My camera's save time is practically instantaneous when it is writing to this chip and this is the reason I sent the extra money on this product. There are plenty of cheaper chips but they are slower as well.
I found the RescuePro software a very nice addition to this product but probably not necessary for most people.

Strengths: 133x = 20Mb/sec
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I have used the 1GB version since 2005 and the 2GB version stores twice as much. This card stores 163 images in RAW format using a 10.2MB DSLR, or over 3100 in Basic + Small format (1936 x 1296). I highly recommend this card for use in all DSLR's whenever you need high 133x transfer rates.
