Good quality biuld. makes a good style statement Weaknesses: Not much actually. would have loved if it had a webcam. Summary: I own this laptop for a year now and i have been using it heavily for applications ranging from office work to video encoding applications. I must say I am more than satisfied with this laptop. The screen is excellent and the colors are vibrant. You can see even the faintest of the images.I had a dell laptop before and some movies scenes could not be seen at all. The sound quality of fe660g is quite good, loud enough for personal entertainment (not very loud though). The mouse pad is good and doesnt getting sweaty or sticky like some other laptops I have seen. and the sensitivity is just right. The performance is amazing. I use it even for video encoding applications (they are very CPU intensive) like making an .avi file. The performance nearly matches my desktop which has far faster CPU speed. The SATA harddisk is great and gives decent transfer speed. The ports are arranged on the sides. And yes , the battery life is quite decent. if you use on medium brightness with normal activity (less than 40 percent CPU) i manage to get about 4 hours. AND I HAVE BEEN USING MY LAPTOP FOR A YEAR NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL !!!!. Yes it does come with lots of preinstalled stuff which you may not need. You can remove it, but take an image of the drive first incase anything goes wrong. the software comes bundled. i am a bit of a computer geek myself and knows how to keep the system optimized. but if you research on the internet,help is not far. Appearance wise, the laptop is just so attractive! Weaknesses: when you are lifting the top (screen), you need to hold the bottom half down. Summary: I am giving a non-technical review. This is my first sony computer, and so far, it's been great. The laptop is light and easy to carry around. Strengths: nice wide screen, good looking, inbuilt microphone Weaknesses: dvd drive, sd card drive, cant partition hard drive Summary: I bought it around 5 months back. I have had few problems with this laptop. First, its SD card drive stopped working and then the dvd drive. and it also vibrates when dvd is running. Both the times i had great service experience, they changed both my drives. But new sd card drive also stopped working. I havent bothered to change it again as i can use USB to transfer pics from my digicam. DVD drive works fine as yet, but doesnt work with few DVDs. I cant exactly figure out the problem. About the partitions, You cannot partition the harddisk of this laptop with installation cds so have to have backup of the data. Even if you partition using partition magic or something, While reinstalling you have to format entire harddisk, so doesnt make much sense to partition anyways. Other than these, it gives good performance and is quite fast even while running softwares like matlab. which is expected as it has 1gb ram :) 75% of People (3/4) found this review helpful.
