All controls are within easy reach. 4. Easy to memorize controls (important if using and driving at the same time) Weaknesses: 1. Bulky and Large for a head unit remote 3. The remote holder that comes with it does not stick to not flat surfaces, which was a bummer (had to buy stronger two faced tape) Summary: I have a Alpine XDA-001 head unit and this remote worked right out of the box with it. All the bottoms worked and didn't need any special configuring to make them work. Also as mentioned before, the remote is kind of bulky for a head unit control. It would have been better if it also was more comfortable when holding it. It works as advertise. If you need a remote for a head unit for a good price, this is the remote for you. Included in the retail package is also a holder that can be mounted on the dashboard to hold the remote control in place. I prefer to use a remote to control simple functions, instead of fumbling with the small buttons on the head unit while driving on freeway. It does exactly what it should.
