Strengths: Sounds great, easy to set up, USB is great, universal remote
Weaknesses: No AM radio, remote is a little unintuitive, other small problems
Summary: I just recently bought this, so I can't speak too much about the durability. So far, though, it is well worth the price. The sound is great and everything else seems to work fine. After setting the HT-Q45 up, I immediately plugged in my USB flash drive and browsed some pictures. I also found out that I can set one of them as the system's background. It is pretty neat to have your own custom picture display every time you turn this on.
There are two weaknesses that I almost instantly discovered. The first is that the remote is not very intuitive. The buttons and the writing on them are very small, which makes them very hard to read while watching a movie with the lights off. The sheer number of buttons makes it hard to find what you are looking for, but I suppose I will get used to it in time. The second problem I found is that the rewinding of DVDs sometimes does not work well. One of the movies would only rewind at about 1x, even when I tried to speed it up. And neither the timer display nor the video would track with the new time, so it would be rewinding (slowly) but I didn't know how far back it had gone. On the other DVD, when it was set to rewind at 2x it actually went at about 1x, and so on up until 32x was actually about 20x. The tracking of the video was also not great, although at least every second or two it would update the video. Maybe the first DVD was dirty or scratched (it was a rental), but the other DVD was pretty much new. I noticed similar issues with fast-forward, but didn't play around with that as much.
I can definitely live with these two problems, and am happy with the purchase.
