Destruction Derby makes its return on PS2!
Strengths: Online compatibility
Tons of Destruction
Weaknesses: The graphics could be better
Championship mode too short
Too easy
Summary: I have been a fan of the Destruction Derby series for a long time. Destruction Derby Arenas is a decent effort for the PS2 and is quite fun when you spend more time with it.
The destruction in this game is definitely endless. The tracks are designed in a way that you will be able to lap other cars, thus increasing the mayhem. destruction then ever before. The tracks are short so that you can out lap other cars for maximum destruction. This is especially nice when compared to previous entries of Destruction Derby.
The Championship mode is a lot of fun and is setup in a very unique way. It is, however, pretty short which is unfortunate because it is a lot of fun.
Another great thing worth pointing out is that this game features online play. It is really a blast online, I just wish that there were more people actually playing this game.
The sound is pretty generic and very typical. In terms of the graphics, the game is also average and I really wish there were some more details in car damage etc.
In conclusion, Destruction Derby Arenas is a lot of fun. It is a short game, that has some small flaws, mainly in terms of presentation. I definitely say give it a rent or a purchase if the price is right.
