Strengths: Surprizingly strong sound, impressive bass, SFX is noticable and impressive, stable design, long enough cords.
Weaknesses: No bass control.
Summary: I mostly use them for gaming. I don't have the room or the will to set up a 5.1 and my neighbors wouldn't apprcate it to much. This 2.1 system delivers more sound than I was expecting. Bass truely delivers a long throw (hearing it all threw my appartment), the hights and mids are crips and clear. When the volume is all the way up your get hiss and distortion but it's way too loud for my tastes anyway.

Since everything plugs into the one satellite it makes cord management a breeze, the satellites are also stable enough to prevent any knock overs from cord disruption. The sub is compact and surprizingly small for the big sound it delivers. I'd highly recomend these for anyone who is looking for big clear sound within a manageble volume range.

Simply put... Altec Lansing knows speakers!

Strengths: great sound! nice highs and really thumping lows. much more then i expected for under 50 bucks. music/movies/games all sound great! and sleek flat panel style looks expensive. great set.
Weaknesses: no bass control. just a bit overpowering at times from the cool little sub woofer. adjusts ok from pc controls. and the sfx feature seems a bit gimmicky. sounds better with it turned off in my opinion
Summary: these must be the best speakers available in thier price range. under fifty dollars is hard to believe. i was shocked when i first heard them. great range and response all around. a much better upgrade from the base speakers that came with my computer then i could have anticipated for the money. fills my apartment with sound. highly recommended!

Strengths: looks good sounds great. At the size and price nice match with hp system.
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: staples had a nice sound check system to compare computer speakers and for mid range these were the best sounding with clean highs and powerful base not bad for the money.

Strengths: Execellent clarity, more than sufficient volume, great accustics, and very solidly made.
Weaknesses: It would be nice to have a volume control on the woofer. When the satellites are turned up all the way, there is naturally some distortion, but that kind of volume is unnecessary anyway.
Summary: I own a Boston digital theater speaker system which was very

expensive. I can honestly say that the Altec Lansing speaker system is every bit as good for my needs. To compare the systems would be rather foolish, but for computer work the Altec is just fine. It has very good clarity and fidelity. The frequency response of the satellites is 180hz to 18khz. The woofer is 50 to 180 hz. Remember, these speakers cost less than $50.00 (mine cost $38.05 w/free shipping from Buy.com) For the price, they can't be beat in my opinion. They also save a lot of desk room. That was my main reason for buying them. I was skeptical at first, but I think I bought a winner. Only having them for a few hours, I can't say wheather they will hold up, but they have a 1 year limited warranty. I haven't had a chance to try them on games yet, but I'm sure they will not disappoint me. I plan on buying another set.

Strengths: The sound is solid and clear and you can't beat the price for what you get. I love them!
Weaknesses: None
Summary: This was a very good purchase for me. I wanted something to allow me to listen to music while I worked on the computer and the Altec Lansing VS2121 delivered. I like to compact size and astetics of these speakers. If you need a good 2.1 spaeker setup for your computer, this is the way to go.

Strengths: Good crisp highs. Solid Bass.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I got a great deal on the speaker set and I love it. Very nice looking and has a solid bass. Some have said there is crackling at higher volumes, I have had no such problem. I would recommend them to any one looking for a very good sound at a great price.

Strengths: These are sleek, wall hangable looks good and worth the money
Weaknesses: None
Summary: 2005-06-08 17:25:46 These are very nice set of three speakers. I have not find any bad thing about these. They sound fine. Some people reported they pick up static but I haven't notice that and not sure about cell phone interference as I don't use one. I do recommend these speakers as they produce good quality sound for an affordable price.

Strengths: Sounds great. Hooked it up to my dell 4600 and works great.
Weaknesses: No Bass control
Summary: Sound quality is definitely superioir to my previous spekers. For the price it can't be beat. Others reported buzzing problem. But I didn't find any noice so far. Works great. Also I can hook them up to the wall mount as well. I don't have enough space on my computer desk. Saves me some space.

Strengths: sleek design, great price, good sound
Weaknesses: buzzzzzzzzz... after 5 minutes I though I got a good one but then the subwoofer started to buzz.
Summary: 2005-05-24 12:18:37 good speakers for the money. I got them on sale but the annoying buzz can be a non sellling point for some. I had purchased one started to buzz after a while then exchanged them to see if it was defective but sure enough the new ones buzzed as well. I unplug mine after use to avoid the buzzing, other than that good sound, bass deep for a tiny subwoofer.

Strengths: Cheap price, good sound
Weaknesses: No power button / remote
Summary: In my opinion, these speakers are awesome! For under 20 dollars, this is probably one of the best 2.1 sets you can get. I haven't experienced any problems with the so-called "static" from these speakers, and they have treated me well. They look great, thin and would match any LCD set excellently. I was actually a little surprised with how loud these speakers can get. I haven't even attempted going half way, their range is pretty good for me. The sub is nice and offers a lot of bass, which is cool. Great speakers for the price!

Strengths: slick design , good bass

Summary: you get what you pay for . it cost me 10 bucks and i use it mostly for my PS2 . compact size saves me a lot of space but the annoying static noise somewhat tells people why it's so cheap .

3 Star ReviewAs the other Altec Lansing speakers, this one deli ...
Strengths: Modern Design. Fair sound Quality. Small in size
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: As the other Altec Lansing speakers, this one delivers pretty good sound quality at a reasonable price. At the price of around 20, I believe this set of speakers has the best value. I replaced my old Microlab 2.1 speaker with this one and compared between them. There was a noticable differece between the two sets of speakers. Another thing worthy mention is the elegant design of this 2.1 speaker. Its color matches my Dell Dimension Desktop and Moniter very well. To conclude, this set of speaker is a good choice at entry level and can satisfy most of the common use of games and mp3 musics.
