Strengths: Many useful features
Easy to access the Features
Able to add phones to the system.
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: When we went shopping for a new phone system, we wanted a corded phone, answering machine feature, caller ID capable and speed dial. The Uniden TRU9488 is all those features and many more. It's also a room monitor (works as a baby monitor), an intercom, a phonebook holding 100 names and numbers, easy redial and many more features that we have not yet explored. And to top it all off, each phone handset also has a speakerphone as does the base unit. We can now sit on the couch and chat with our children holding a handset between us or each of us can have a handset chatting along. With our old system, my wife and I would have to lean over toward the speaker on the phone to be heard clearly. Now we can talk normal and we can be heard clearly and distinctly. The handsets are NOT connected to the telephone wiring of the house (eliminating the wiring we had going to each phone) and each handset has a charging unit that it sits in. We are very happy with this Uniden TRU9488 system and recommend to anyone looking for a new phone.

Strengths: clear voice quality, even with VoIP. Excellent features, easy to use.
Weaknesses: Range - works great in the house, but gets static in the back yard (I do live on an acre, but phone is centrally located).
Summary: Everything so far has been great with this system. I really like the room monitor and intercom features...especially if you live in a large house. It would be nice if the phone worked throughout my whole yard, but I do live on an acre, so I understand it has its limits.

Strengths: crystal clear reception.
backlit keys on handsets and speakerphone on the handset.
good caller ID log, huge phone book storage, and excellent answering machine functionalit
Weaknesses: keys on base are NOT backlit
Summary: This is the second Uniden telephone I've used consecutively, and I'd be hard pressed to use any other brand of telephone. Great battery life on their handsets, equally impressive reception, and due to the digital encryption, no need to worry about your signal being tapped. This phone's functionality is extensive, with multiple number phone book memory (ala cellphone number storage), intuitive answering machine system so you don't have to pay for voicemail through your telephone provider, and telephone service even during a power outage due to the corded handset on the base. The speakerphone is also very loud and clear, and my callers never had difficulty understanding me. Just a really solid telephone all around, very satisfied as I assure you will be also.

Strengths: 5.8ghz, nice set of features, good value
Weaknesses: Only three ringer volume choices (off, low, & high),
Summary: I like the security of having one corded phone in the house in case there is a power outage, so this phone system with its corded/cordless combination works great for me. This system has a great set of features including speakerphone, intercom, room monitor, & digital answering machine. Unlike my old system you only need to program phone numbers into one phone and then can transfer them to all the other handsets. Also like that you can name each handset (kitchen, office, living room). So far I have had no problems with voice clarity or handset range.

Strengths: Handset does not get too warm.
Weaknesses: Speakerphone sound quality and volume could be improved.
Summary: A combination of corded base with cordless handset allows lengthy conversations with best quality on corded line without worry of losing charge and quality, and the flexibility/convenience of spare, cordless unit(s) for normal use.

Strengths: 5.8 GHz, speakerphone and check msgs on both base and cordless, easy to set-up and use, strong call quality, great distance capacity on the cordless, stylish unit.
Weaknesses: Virtually none. Once in a while the do not disturb button has to be pressed more than once to activate it (has to be pressed just right).
Summary: I initially bought this unit as a gift for my parents who had dreadful cordless reception in their large home. It gets incredible reviews online, so I figured we could always return it. My parents were delighted with the sound quality and the great distance they could take the cordless handset during phone conversations.
I bought another one for myself weeks later, and I'm thrilled with it as well. I can take the phone down the driveway a ways without any loss in call quality. This is a great value.

Strengths: Exceptional digital cordless reception. Easy to setup and change features. Easy to read backlit LCD displays.
Weaknesses: Base unit keypad not lighted. Awkward to add "1" when storing incoming long distance numbers.
Summary: We have used a number of Panasonic and Uniden products and would rank this combo near the top. It provides a very complete set of features at a reasonable price: digital answering system, corded base unit (for power outages), intercom & monitor, speakerphones (both units), expandable cordless handsets, and lighted caller IDs. Both units have very good build quality and should last well under normal use. The cordless and speakerphone sound quality are extremely clear. There are some small nitpicks when compared to other units we have owned. The most annoying so far is the inability to save incoming phone numbers from caller ID list to the phonebook with a "1" attached for long distance calling. The system allows a 1 to be appended when a number is recalled from memory, but we have not found a way to store a number with a 1 unless the number is completely reentered during the memory store process.

Strengths: Easy to set up. Sound Quality. Expandable.
Weaknesses: Wish it allowed MP3 Ringtones
Summary: I just bought this phone today and it works great so far. Sound quality is much improved over my old AT&T phone and it was a breeze to set up. I've added 3 other hand sets and they all installed easily as well. Great phone for a great price. Highly recommmended!

Strengths: Great Deal for the features.
Speakerphone on handset.
See comments.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: You can rename handsets according to location. You can turn main ringer off on base or handset but still use Transfer Call and Intercom features to that hanset. You can setup the phone book on the base and send to all the handsets. You can listen to messages from any handset. Range is pretty good. Two or more handsets can be used at one time. Corded option good just in case you're out of battery or there's a power outage.
