Strengths: Auto shut off, LED is easy to read. Instructions for setup aesy to follow. Carafe keeps coffee warm, but doesn't burn it as easily as the glass carafe
Weaknesses: The carafe lid is a pain. It screws on. It works well, but I hate it. Also, the automatic brew start has to be reset everyday. That is annoying.
Summary: All in all, I like it, I can live with the weaknesses. We really needed an 8 cup coffee maker. There are only 2 of us and we want to cut down on coffee.

Strengths: inexpensive, durable, fast, makes good coffee
Weaknesses: a trifle louder than my last Mr. Coffee machine
Summary: This is just like every other Mr. Coffee machine except it has an 8 cup thermal carafe rather than the 12 cup glass carafe that fits in the same physical envelope. Because it uses the thermal carafe it has no hot plate. The carafe does a good job of keeping the coffee warm for a reasonable length of time (couple of hours, not all day) and you don't end up with burnt coffee flavor.

If you like Mr. Coffee machines and 8 cups is large enough for you, you will like this machine.

Strengths: Easy to use, water level easy to see, simple controls, auto shut off.
Weaknesses: Slow, needed more coffee than previous coffee maker for same taste.
Summary: I had purchased this coffee maker to replace a high-end coffee maker that drove me nuts. The high-end coffee maker had a mind of its own when all I wanted was a simple coffee maker that made a good cup of coffee. This coffee maker has a nice control panel that doesn't assign multiple functions to just a few buttons. A simple on and off switch is all I wanted and this coffee maker has it. The delay brew is simple to program but like another user has stated, must be reset every day. The clock is also very easy to set. This coffee maker has a water level window on either side of the unit and is very easy to see how much water is in the reservoir. No skinny tubes to get air bubbles trapped inside and are hard to read. The carafe is only eight cups but it is sufficient and the lid is not the greatest design but I never had a carafe that did. This coffee maker is the first one in a long time that doesn't make a mess when you use it. Make sure the paper filter is touching all of the sides of the filter basket or you will get grounds in the pot. If the filter does not stay to the sides of the filter basket just wet it a little and it will. The only fault I have with this coffee maker is that it is slower than the high-end coffee maker it replaces. It takes about eight to ten minutes to brew a full eight cups of coffee. I also needed to slightly increase the amount of coffee I use to have the same strong brew that I like. I think the water does not get as hot with this coffee maker than the high-end coffee maker but it is hot enough for me when the brew is finished. The carafe does a good job of keeping the coffee warm especially if you pre-heat the carafe with hot water a few minutes before brewing. You can fill the water reservoir with another container since the water windows are so easy to read. As soon as the brew cycle is complete this coffee maker turns itself off. The high-end took as long as five minutes before shutting down... when it felt like it. So far this coffee maker is doing what I want and I am very pleased with it.
