Strengths: Easy set-up, easy-to-use. Intercom and call transfer. Buttons light up.
Weaknesses: LCD screen a little small, backlight could be better. Sound quality on answering machine fuzzy. Phone book limited to 50 entries. Extra handsets expensive.
Summary: My overall opinion of this phone is favorable as it had the options I was looking for. It's easy to use and expandable. The handset is not too small which makes the buttons easier to read. They light up although not for very long. There's a light on top which blinks when a call comes in but it's too bright; I think it could be used as a nightlight! It has a nice intercom feature which is great to use when you're on different floors of the house. You can also transfer a call which is very convenient when you answer the phone and the call isn't for you. For all it's plusses, however, there are some negatives. I'm told I can't always be heard by the person at the other end. The answering machine volume could be louder and the playback message quality isn't very clear. For me this Panasonic was the best option available but there is room for improvement.

Strengths: Good handset battery life; easy to set up
Weaknesses: Poor message quality (audio)
Summary: The KXTG5771 is a good product. The unit is easy to set up (I also purchased a second headset station) and operate. It features numerous options regarding ring sounds, message alert notifications, handset locater, Speakerphone, etc. The handsets are compact and rugged as well as being splashproof. Also, handset battery life is excellent. The backlit keypad and speakerphone capabilities of the handsets are very useful. The only negative that I have noted is the audio quality (fuzzy sounding) of incoming phonemail messages.

2 Star ReviewGood feature list, only OK quality,
Strengths: Looks, ergonomic, sound quality of handset.
Weaknesses: Very fuzzy answer machine messages, small not very bright light when you have a message, expensive.
Summary: The basic function of the handset (talking/listening) works very well. Some of the other features, however, are lacking. The answering machine messages are very fuzzy and sometimes words from a cell phone message could not be understood. The base is wide and the antennas sticking up are old school just don't fit with modern phone designs any more. Very expensive. Add on handsets for the future are also very expensive, especially when compared to Uniden systems. The Talking Caller ID was the most disappointing feature of all. The unit attempts to guess the pronunciation of whatever shows up on the caller ID and does so badly. With other stand alone units you can record your own voice so when your wife calls from here cell phone it will say "Kristie's cell phone" in your own voice or whatever you want. MUCH better. Overall not worth the cost with lack luster so-so quality features.
