2 Star ReviewEscali kitchen scale
Strengths: simple and functional
Weaknesses: flimsy and not really accurate
Summary: The scale didn't look fancy out of the box, but we liked the simplicity and its small size. Its buttons work fine, with features such as on and off, tare, and shifting between ounce and grams. The biggest problem with the machine lies in its accuracy. We used it mostly for baking ingredients, and disappointingly the measurements were off by 1-2 grams. Also the display values do not stay fixed when something is left on the platform for a while. When I put a few pieces of pistachios on it, the display kept changing between 3 and 4 grams at about 5 or 6 seconds' intervals. If you need a scale with precision, I would not recommend this product to you.

Strengths: Simple to use. Easy to clean. Good value.
Weaknesses: Not designed to weigh large items.
Summary: The Escali Primo is a simple, stylish kitchen scale. It has just two buttons, one to switch between ounces and grams, and the other to turn the unit on and off and reset the scale to zero. The latter button allows you to put an empty bowl on the scale and weigh just the ingredients.

The dislay shows weights in 0.1 ounce increments (1 gram increments when showing grams), and the scale's maximum capacity is 11 pounds (5 kilograms). The display digits are large and easy to read from any angle. Note that a large bowl might block your view of the display.

The Escali Primo has an attractive satin finish that's easy to keep clean. The scale has non-slip feet.

It runs off two AA batteries, included. The Escali comes with an impressive 5 year warranty.

Strengths: Lightweight Accurate Easy to use
Weaknesses: Can be damaged by rough use and/or shaking Uses batteries
Summary: I was surprised by how lightweight this scale is! It's extremely accurate and it is available in a huge variety of colors at most sites so you can match it to your kitchen's color scheme.

You can easily set a bowl on top of the scale in order to measure food or other loose substances. There are only two buttons - the On/Tare/Off button and the g/oz button, so it's extremely easy to use.

Another characteristic I like about this scale is its size - it's super small so you could slide it away in a drawer if you need to.

The only downside that I've come across has been the fact that the scale only uses AA batteries - there is no other power supply option.
