Strengths: Good looking, fits nicely in double-din opening, loaded with features.
Weaknesses: Almost TOO MANY features, can be difficult to naviagte, manual is bare bones. Cheesy, cartoonish 'movies' and wallpaper.
Summary: I wanted a double-din receiver with 3 sets of pre-amp outs, but I also wanted to stop just short of spending the extra money on a unit equipped with DVD and/or navigation screens. The Kenwood unit perfectly suited my needs.
It looks great in a double-din opening, especially at night with the subtle blue backlighting. It has a very clean, sleek look.
I installed aftermarket an aftermarket amp, sub and speakers, and the Kenwood receiver really maximized the sound potential of the other components.
Navigating through the numerous menus proved to be difficult at times. I think the unit could be more user friendly, and the manual definitely needs some fleshing out.
And if you're not into skateboarding or waterskiing, you'll be disappointed with the 'movie' choices. The wallpaper isn't much better.
But overall, an excellent product. Sure to impress your passengers.
