Strengths: Small, powerful, audio, easy, easy to setup, good software, wireless or direct connect.
Weaknesses: Wish it was less expensive.
Summary: Nice camera, so easy to setup, no vices. The picture quality is good, does not work too well when facing a window. The tilt and rotate capabiility works smoothly and the rotation of the axis range is very good.

Strengths: Small, nice quality, easy to setup.
Weaknesses: no optical zoom, price
Summary: Nice camera, very good quality and super flexible in the settings. Port can be changed so this camera can be easily rerouted in the firewall / router for internet viewing.

2 Star ReviewOnly works with IE/ActiveX
Strengths: Good picture, nice web interface
Weaknesses: Requires IE/ActiveX - can't use other browsers or OSes.
Summary: Unfortunately, a good piece of hardware ruined by sub-standard hardware and interfaces. The built-in web browser (necessary to view and control the camera) requires Microsoft's insecure, dangerous ActiveX controls to run.

So: Firefox users - you're out of luck.

Mac users - sorry.

Linux - don't make me laugh.

It's Internet Explorer on Windows or nothing, kids. I returned it.

Strengths: Cheap, does its job, can view a large area with one camera.
Weaknesses: Somewhat difficult to set up. Tends to occasionally lockup and you have to unplug and plug back in. Only works on IE due to it using an Active-X control. Has some problems viewing w/Vista.
Summary: I have 11 of these. I bought all from M-wave, which has always had the best price. I have these set up at 6 different stores, some stores with multiple cameras. When they work they do their job. Note: It has a focusing ring on the lens that you may need to adjust to get the best picture. Picture is OK, not great, and the zoom is worthless as it is not optical. When set up right you can see and hear very well. I use it to monitor several stores, and it does its job. Problem is that occasionally they lock up and they have to be unplugged and plugged back in. This is a hassle if you are not in town. Also the monitoring and recording software works, but needs some improvements. The recording part is difficult to use. If you want it to monitor an entrance and record when someone enters, you have to make sure the camera is left on the door or it will not work. If someone else moves it you will not record what you want.

Strengths: Smooth video over the internet, decent sound pickup even over 25 feet away (have to turn the sound up all the way)
Weaknesses: Recording ability. Haven't figured this out yet.
Summary: This camera is the best one I've ever owned and I've had quite a few. In fact, I just bought two more for my office.

The video is really incredible. I have 4 DCS-900W's and the video with these is over the internet is choppy (no sound) and we have a gigabit network (camera max transfer is 100 Mbps) and decent DSL at the source and very high speed cable at home. So it's not the connection. The video with the 5300 is almost in real time. It's pretty weird when you are in another country and you can view the status of your office while things are happening--almost as if you are really there.

I showed the video to one of my friends who lives in another state and he bought the camera the same day.

I highly recommend this camera.
