Strengths: Modern and sleek style. Vivid colors. Crisp images. Compact size and relatively light-weighted.
Weaknesses: Not exactly easy to set up. The TV reacts rather slowly (3-4 seconds) when changing channels.
Summary: I'm not a television expert. As far as I'm concern, the unit looks great, works great, and sounds great. I've actually gone to several huge retail stores to compare the quality and prices. This TV is not exactly the least expensive one, however the quality is good. Buying it online saves you at least a few hundred dollars. Also, all the stores I visited had it on back order and they couldn't give me an exact time that they'd get it. I was able to get it online within 10 days of order although they did not give me a tracking number until a few days after the product has arrived.

Like the previous review said, this TV does not look like a 40". The screen does not seem as big as the other 40" televisions. However, I do think it's worth the money and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Strengths: elegant design, input flexibility, picture quality
Weaknesses: odd shaped remote control, the seond RF input
Summary: Got this one for my bedroom after using the Samsung LN--S3292D for a month in kitchen. I like the white color design and the power button is not as bright as the blue one on the 32 inch. The setup is very easy and the stand is assembled in factory. The picture and sound qualities are both excellenton dishnetwork non HD channels. My only negative comment is on the cable RF input. I thought I can use the cable input for the channel 60 from my dishnetwork and the air RF input for over the air antenna for HDTV. Hoevery, it turns out that the RF cable-in is only for cable TV and will not work with the output from dishnetwork receiver. The problem is solveable with an A/B switch. overall, it is a great TV if in cable-in is improved and the remote controle is changed into better shape

Strengths: Good looks. Vivid colors. Acceptable blacks. Great as a computer monitor. Memory per independent input. Decent speakers. Easy to setup.
Weaknesses: Colors lean towards red. PIP is seemingly impossible to use.
Summary: I wanted a unit that would be a great computer monitor while still being a great HDTV. I am happy with my purchase. The most disappointing part is the PIP. It is hard to use to the point where I don't even want to use it. Otherwise all else is easy to use. Menus and setup are great.

Finally, if you are upgrading from 27 inch regular screen TV, get the 40 inch LCD widescreen. You will be disappointed with 32 inch or smaller because of the perceived size. The 40" screen is barely bigger vertically than my 27" (although a lot wider).

Strengths: Beautiful looks. Menus and setup are great, Vivid colors. Sound quality is very good, especially for built-in speakers.
Weaknesses: contrast ratio is low, PIP is seemingly impossible to use or not important.
Summary: This TV seriously impressed me from the moment I was lifting it out of the box. The white shine made me feel like I had truly found a good quality TV. I have used pricegrabber to do a lot of shopping between Sony, Samsung, and others, I felt that when compared side-by-side the Samsung simply looked clearer and brighter.

Overall picture quality is fantastic, it has many brightness modes as well as energy saver modes. I thought the sound was really good out of the hidden speakers and was not distorted at higher volumes. The swivel base is a nice feature.

In its entirety, I highly recommend this TV. It is true quality in nearly every area. I am very pleased to have it.

I was more familiar with but simply could not pass up the zero tax, free shipping option at Beach Camera, that got me my new LCD TV in less than a week.

Strengths: Picture, Styling, User Interface, Price
Weaknesses: lacks QAM tuner, DOA.
Summary: Anxiously awaited the arrival of this sleek machine. Set it up in the special spot created for it, and alas - no picture whatsoever. Very helpful persons at the Samsung Customer Service Center (daytime hours only) quickly decided that the LCD was likely bad and referred us to a local service provider. We were warned that an initial attempt would be made to replace a power supply and/or other simple component, and only after this did not succeed would they inititate the LCD replacement process. Took almost 4 weeks to get the TV back, but wow! - the set and the picture are both terrific. If it had not been the last of the 40" white models available, we would have returned the set and purchased something else.

Strengths: excellent picture quality; good looking design; low price
Weaknesses: the picture is a little redish
Summary: I bought the samsung S4052D from frys.com a week ago for $1299 with free shipping. I think that's a pretty good deal. I hooked it up with my computer for use as a second monitor. The picture quality just blew me away. Although it's not 1080P, it's still as vivid and clear. I'm glad I didn't spend $400 or more to get the 4095D. The only issue with the TV is that the picture is a little reddish even I set the picture mode to cool2. other than that, no complain.
