Strengths: Size, versatility, MP3 playback, record broadcast, great sound and reception. This device does it all: home, car and portable.
Weaknesses: Memory could be larger.
Summary: I have used this device as a portable device, at home using the home dock, and in the car using the car dock. I have never had any type of reception problem, with the exception of driving through a tunnel (guess you can expect that with any type of radio transmission). Have had a couple of times when the reception went out for a second when blocking the antenna, but it self-corrected and the outage was so minimal I really didn't care. I have read a lot of reviews here with complaints about the battery life. I have not had that problem first hand. I have used the device for 3 days now, and haven't had to re-charge (I'd say that I've used it for about 8 hours without a re-charge). Love the fact that you can record songs and/or broadcasts and that I can also load my own music. Guess I can get rid of my Toshiba Gigabeat now. This is my first journey in to satellite radio and I have to admit, I'm loving it and I absolutely love my Inno!!!!! The price was great and right now they are offering a $50 mail-in rebate, which makes the price even better. Have not had any issues with the battery cover falling off or poor reception. I have a friend that is on Sirius and he complains about signal loss a lot. Have not had that problem with my Inno. Highly recommended!!!!

Strengths: Small and lightweight. It really is a portable satellite radio. All around just a cool gadget.
Weaknesses: *battery cover slides off too easy on its own. only held on by 2 tiny nubs. ok if you keep the inno in it's protective armband/belt clip thingy. *Battery life to short *Must pay extra for the car kit.
Summary: I have had the Inno for only a few days, but I love it and am obsessed with it already! Outdoors, I have had no problems with reception at all. I can walk around my maturely-treed neighborhood and local wooded park and listen to live XM with virtually no interfence or fade. I took it to the Jersey shore and had no problems there either. I do run into some fade problems with Live XM indoors, only when using the headphones, but it is easy enough to just stick it in the home dock and listen that way.

I also like that you can record songs and programs from Live XM to the Inno (for later use or when reception is poor), although you can not copy them to CD's or transfer to computer.

If you are looking to get the Inno, I highly recommend it. Just make sure you opt for the Antenna headphones. They make a huge difference in reception quality.

This is my first experience with Satellite radio so please excuse my excitement! Just so you know, I live in the Suburbs of Philadelphia, no high-rises or anything like that around, so I don't know how well it works in a city environment. And since I have only had the Inno for a few days, I will post an update if anything bad happens or I have anything else I can think of.

3 Star ReviewPioneer INNO Portable XM - ?Eliminated FM Modulator feature?
Strengths: Size and recording ability for bad reception use
Weaknesses: Eliminated FM modulator feature (unless in cardock) Battery cover falls off
Summary: Original units had built-in FM modulator which was great traveling since I can transmit to my hotel clock radio, rental car radio, even to my bicycle radio. Who wants to travel carrying a car docking station? Defeats the whole portability thing? I even use the FM modulator to transmit to all radio's in my house from the home dock and never have to move the radio. This Best Feature has now been eliminated, go figure?

I went to buy (2) more but, FM modulator feature had been eliminated, so I returned them. (I kept original with this modulator feature) IPOD has an FM modulator option, but Pioneer decides to elimate to force people to buy the CAR KIT, which I purchased anyway for use in my own car.

A great device is now an OK device. BRING BACK THE FM Modulator feature PIONEER!!!

Strengths: Compact size. Good sound.
Weaknesses: Loose reception occasionally. Poor battery life (4 hours)
Summary: I use this XM player on a motorcycle. Battery life is short (about 4 hours, so I've bought a second battery), and reception is lost when the so. sky is blocked. The keys are almost impossible to use with a gloved hand, I must remove my glove to change channels, volume, etc. But overall, I'm very happy with the unit. I can also use it in my home and rv (it came with the home cradle, and I purchased the car/travel cradle. I just received an email to download "firmware" which is supposed to increase battery life, we'll give it a try. By the way, I really like the XM programs. I've found a dozen or so "perfect" channels.

Strengths: Small, great record function, pick a song or a channel and let it do the rest.
Weaknesses: Sat. antenna on the device is not good enough to allow running, etcetera using the XM live option; however the my music option allows you to play your recorded music.
Summary: Great XM option for those looking for one device to use while doing physical training, at home, or in multiple cars. There is a built in FM transmitter that is great for one city operation; however, while transiting several cities you frequently need to change the FM transmitter channel. The optional car kit works great and includes a micro antenna that I use on the dash of my car and get great reception.

Strengths: Slender and easy to follow set-up.
Weaknesses: Indoor reception can be difficult when doing the antenna set-up.
Summary: I received my Inno as a gift and it was great. Then the on-off button quit working. contact was made to send mine back and get a replacement. The replacement arrived much sooner than the original approximation. I am now back to listening to the tunes I want to hear when I want to hear them, from classical to some of the older decades. I can record what I hear and play it back later.

Strengths: Small, powerful. Works great with headphones
Weaknesses: Does not work well with car kit. Changes channels and modes by it self.
Summary: I have the my-fi and couldn't wait for the inno to come out. I've had it 45 days and love it. I've had no problems with the battery life. As a portable the reception was poor but with the antenna I have no problems. I have had trouble with the car kit. I am on my second car kit and have the same problem. The Inno changes channels and shuts off by it self. It must be in the Inno.

Strengths: compact, great sound, cool looking device that competes with an Ipod or others, great screen view, antenna strength
Weaknesses: Battery life is too, too short. navigation
Summary: This is a great device that works well with great sound quality and all that xm radio has to offer. It is also a great "image" device when seen listening to it. The Myfi was a little strange looking as you carried it.

The battery life is very short and seems to drop while the unit is off....no standby time. This can ruin the experience if you want to use your unit all day at the beach or keeping it with when you are away from home.

1 Star ReviewIt's ok
Strengths: Cool design
Weaknesses: Battery life stinks
Summary: I purchased one of these back in June, and the battery would run out after 1 to 2 hours. I returned it for a new one, same problem. I returned it again,I figured three times is a charm. No way. I returned it, and went back to my old & ugly Myfi portable. What you get is 2 hours play time if you are lucky. When Pioneer fixes this problem, I will buy it again.

Strengths: Beautiful design, great full sound quality (full range). Best feature is ability to bulk record and sort music on the fly. Blows away iPod. Reception is great except in subway, flip to MP3 mode easy
Weaknesses: Headphones that come with it are weak. My ipod headphones sound better w/ fuller range.
Summary: I've waited for 2 years to upgrade my iPod, and very glad I did! This thing has much more elegant and efficient organizing system for song files, and I have found reception to be way better than most reviews indicate. Great for listening to new music...I got sick of my iPod library and constant time in front of computer to upgrade & rip cd's or iTunes sessions. This gets me away from my computer, so I can constantly refine songlists while expending my library. Killer product - will sell when price edges down a bit more...

Strengths: Small size, Great music, nice display, Easy user interface, stores up to 50 hours of XM music. Plays MP3 too.
Weaknesses: Small flash memory size, musicis lost if memory partition is changed.
Summary: I love this thing. I never listen to live XM anymore, I set it up to record my favorite channel at night and get all new content. I don't use the MP3 feature since I have an MP3 player in my car and at home. I setup the disk for 100% XM which gives me 50 hours of record time. Since my wife has XM I get mine at a discount. It's easy to skip or delete songs I don't like. The display is bright and easy to read, and the user interface is a breeze. I'm glad I waited for the Inno to come out. I now have all kinds of music I would never have purchased.

Strengths: Sleek design, easy to use.
Weaknesses: Indoor reception can be difficult to get. Battery power runs down quickly.
Summary: First time foray into satellite radio. The Inno is sharp looking and quite easy to use. Signing up for the service is quick and painless. The choice of channels is wide and varied. One touch recording is great feature. The sound quality is great when the reception is clear, but can be difficult to get indoors. Nevertheless, I recommend it.

Strengths: Cool, Nice, and Small, Can record the live musics
Weaknesses: Pricey, Weak signal sometimes without the external antenna, Not include car kit with this price
Summary: I like Pioneer brand. I almost bought the Airware in the last couple of months but found that Pioneer will release Inno soon so, I waited. I'm glad that I wait for this Inno. It's so light, small, and cool device and it's in color too. Lots of features to play around with and can record live musics too. It's very pricey and the price is going down every day. Too bad that it's not included the car kit for this price. The signal is weak in some locations if you don't use the external antenna. Not many accessories. I would recommend it but if you can wait a liitle bit longer or wait for price to stable, you would be able to get the better price.

Strengths: EZ to use, very dependable, great recept.
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: Living in Phx Az. local radio just plain sucks! Satelite has given me back the ability to appriciate music, no commercials, no d.j.s no B.S. The INNO has performed perfectly. Reception in the Phx. area (with XM) has been basically flawless indoors or out. A friend has Sirrus and constantly loses signal, go figure. Highly recommend INNO and XM havn't enjoyed music like this in years. Worth every penny!!!

Strengths: Versatility Size Great OOTB Headphones
Weaknesses: Price is still a little steep Car kits not availible yet No disk upgrade capability
Summary: I love the unit. It feels great in your hand and is much smaller than I expected from the pictures. So far the unit seems pretty fast. The ability to record XM radio based on song, channel, or designated time is a serious plus. The ability to create a playlist with your music and XM recording is just great. If you can get a good price (and this is the place to find them), I would recommend this item highly.

The only real downside for me is you are stuck with working through 1G of hard drive space. The ability to add an SD card (or any denomination) would have made this a slam dunk.
