Strengths: Great sound quality. Excellent features.
Weaknesses: Poor remote. Doesnt get very loud.
Summary: Overall this is a great home theater system for the price. It has good sound quality, although it doesnt get as loud as I would like. The low end sound is adequate, and the reproduction is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone.

Strengths: Great Picture
Great Sound
Easy to use remote
Weaknesses: Can not play DVD+RW movies
Summary: The picture and sound on the home theater are top notch, you can not argue that. It seems the dvd player can NOT play DVD+RW movie disks, but can play DVD+RW MP3 disks.

Strengths: Digital Cinema Auto Calibration, 1000 Watts, Supports pretty much all Video formats
Weaknesses: It may not play PAL region CDs.
Summary: 2006-04-19 15:32:47 This HTS sound clarity is crystal clear. I tried to play various video formats like MP3, CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R, etc., It played all of them without blinking. I strongly recommend this product.

Strengths: Easy installation.
Compact.
Feature Rich.
Great Subwoofer
Weaknesses: Doesn't come with a speaker stand. The remote could be better.
Summary: I purchased this sytem recently, and set it up in around 10 minutes. The quality of sound is great, although the power is not as much as I had hoped for. Overall though I am very happy with the purchase, and for the cost, this unit is a great buy.

Strengths: - 1000 Watts
- Intuitive Design
- Sound is great
- 5.1/Dolby
Weaknesses: - No speaker stand
- Eject button in remote
- Doesn't seems to play DVD+RW, need to do more research
- Plays Divx movies on non US models only
Summary: I love sony Audio products. I have never own a Home Theatre System. When I found the good deal on Circuit City I jumped on and really happy with the product.
I would highly recommend buying it for the first time users. Just buy speaker stands and you have a home theatre systems which rocks.

Strengths: Good overall features and performance; relatively compact; five-disc changer
Weaknesses: None significant considering the all-in-one approach
Summary: This system is a good choice for those with limited funds and/or space. Set up is quick and straightforward. There is ample power and decent sound and picture quality. The five-disc changer is a nice touch. As with any all-in-one system, there are some minor tradeoffs: no HDMI input, modest power, no eject button on the remote, but no major flaws for the price. Overall, a recommended system for a HTIB solution.

Strengths: Compact, easy to setup
Weaknesses: Nothing major
Summary: Bought this system with a hefty rebate, so definitely was value for money. Setup took about 30 mins. Note that to get use the speakers to their fullest, you need a largish rectangular room with TV / seating on opposite ends. Sound quality is fabulous. The only complaint, if any, is the plasticky finish.

Strengths: Many features for only $300
Weaknesses: Somewhat weak
Summary: I just recently purchased this Home Theater System for my bedroom and it is perfect for its purpose. The sounds are clear and sub produce a decent low sound but however, it's somewhat weak and so don't expect a powerhouse from this. For a normal average Joe, this is a perfect system but however, for those who expect a "blow me away" full experience home theater system, then I suggest getting an Onkyo system instead.

 SONY DAV-DX255 Home Theater System review Strengths: Easy to install, good sound
Weaknesses: Lack of support for multiple audio/video sources. Cannot play foreign DVDs/VCDs.
Summary: Pretty decent starter system for the price. Would love to be able to play foreign DVDs/VCDs with this. Have to change to a different DVD player to do this. Also, wish it supported multiple A/V sources and support for next generation interfaces like HDMI. For the price, pretty decent.

Summary: Definetly worth the price, better if there is a rebate to
go with it, set up was quick and simple, took only 30 minutes or so.
Quality of sound is great. I checked out some DVD movies and they are perfect.
Highly recommended ! The subwoofer rocks and is much better than the Kenwood I have.
Can't go wrong with Sony.

Strengths: Easy installation, easy to use, good sound, Sony quality, plays lots of different media types/formats, looks great
Weaknesses: Size, cost, power
Summary: This is a mid-level 5.1-channel surround sound home theater system. Its not going to blow you away, but it has good sound quality. It includes a 5 disc CD/DVD player and can play CD, MP3, DVD, DVD+-R and -RW formats. At around $300, it was a little more expensive than I would want to pay, and I found it a little smaller than I expected. That said, upon opening it up I found it easy to set-up and intuitive to use. The quality seems good as you would expect from Sony, and it looks great. Also comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labor.

Summary: The set is fantastic and works great. it is very easy to set up. The sound effect is great. Overall, I really enjoy this set. BTW, this set does not come with speak stand. you need purchase seperately.

Strengths: Very easy to use; great sound quality;
Weaknesses: may have compability problems with some CD-R
Summary: This system has very rich features. The sound quality is perfect in my opinion. The DVD reader works decent. Some of the DVD-R media seems that can not be readed but for the standard DVD media, it works without any problem. The installation and use is very easy, no much difficulty. Overall, it is a good home theater system on this price level.

Strengths: Price, definetly!! Great buy, with rebates for a Sony!
Weaknesses: No eject button on remote, not as powerful as I thought
Summary: I bougth this last week with some awesome rebates, so it was worth the trouble. Its a Sony, so can't really go wrong with it. The pricture quality is great, sound is awesome for a good sized room. But if you want club style music, then this is not the system to buy. Its sleek, silver color, took about 40 minutes to put it together. Its a good buy!

Strengths: Excellent audio system
Excellent for movie fans
Excellent DVD play back
Weaknesses: No
Summary: This Sony DAV-DX255 Home Theater System is perfect! This thing plays pretty much everything. I've only had a couple of problems with it glitching here and there, but it's probably just the DVD media that I'm using (RiData DVD +R 8x.)
