Dewalt 1/2 inch 18V Cordless Compact Drill/Driver Kit
Strengths: Well-balanced, Powerful
Weaknesses: Chuck Wobble
Summary: I have more Dewalt tools than any other brand - both corded and cordless. I currently have or have previously owned nearly every major brand of cordless drill. The Dewalt DW959K2 compact cordless drill is ruggedly built with lots of power - about 400 in/lbs of torque. The 18 position clutch and two speeds gives you a wide application range. It is well-balanced and feels good in your hand but is heavier than my lithium drills since it uses Ni-Cad battery. This drill kit includes two batteries and they last for a good period of time but they are not XRP which do run longer. The included smart charger is nice and will keep your batteries healthy after many charges. While my Dewalt compact 18 volt drill/driver kit is a solid performer with a ratcheting keyless chuck, I have been disappointed with the amount of chuck wobble. Most people in most applications would probably not even notice but I am particular and I do not like the chuck to have any wobble. Starting a small hole accurately in a critical application would be impaired with significant chuck wobble.
