Strengths: Looks and works great
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: So far I really love the LG electric range. I especially like the convection bake feature, which seems to really make a difference while baking. Cakes bake more evenly and faster now. I live at high altitude and always dealt with problems with baking. The only thing I don't enjoy right now is maintaining the cooktop, as it seems it can be scratched or damaged easily. Maybe I will get more comfortable with it in the future. So far I think I scratched it when I placed a glass bowl on it, as you are not supposed to do it. It actually cleans easily if you follow the instructions.

1 Star ReviewJunk after just 2 years
Strengths: works great in the beginning
Weaknesses: keypad began to malfunction shortly after purchase
Summary: I paid $850 (incl. tax) for my lre30451 in Aug 06. Shortly thereafter, I noticed a "button" on the touch panel was working intermittently. Over the 2 years since, more of the touchpad would fail. In SEP 08, half of the numbers didn't work. NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE RANGE/OVEN IS, IT IS JUNK IF THE BRAINS DON'T WORK! I called customer service, spoke to a manager and he said because it's out of warranty, it's too bad. There's a one year warranty on all parts and a 5 year warranty on the cooktop. I checked the internet and found others who are having the same problem. Someone thought it was related to the self-cleaning function which makes sense since you don't put a computer on/near extreme heat (or cold). It also explains why the malfunctions would get progressively worse for no apparent (to me at the time) reason. The repair person wouldn't comment on cause, just that he replaces a lot of them. I am considering a class-action suit. If the self-cleaning function is the cause, I believe I have a case. I want to clean my oven, but am afraid to because I'll need to pay again to have the keypad replaced. The cost of the repair was $69 for part, $75 travel, $20 labor. Since this essential item is not covered under the 5 year warranty, I consider this and any LG product completely unsatisfactory. They need to change their practice before I buy another of their products.

1 Star ReviewDo Not Buy LG Products for your kitchen!!!
Strengths: Attractive
Weaknesses: Lose Functionality after two or three years
Summary: Our glass top was permanently stained and discolored after the first few months of usage. After two years, we started to lose functionality on the control panel. Now we have lost function in half of the panel and can only use two burners. We also cannot enter the temperature for the oven. Dot purchase LG products for your kitchen.
