1 Star ReviewPretty Face, but hard to live with
Strengths: sound quality and hardware finish typical Sony
Weaknesses: NEED TO KNOW ZIP CODE TO FIND an ADDRESS: MAJOR LET DOWN. GPS LOCATOR BUTTON (TO REMEMBER LOCATION) DOESN'T WORK.
Summary: Thankfully I purchased this from ABT: they'll give me a full refund on this nearly useless device. Even the friendly customer service people at SONY said that they knew it was a flawed design (that they were working to replace). No kidding!

Strengths: fairly recent maps preloaded
Weaknesses: Not as intuitive as other brands
Summary: I purchased this after reading all the reviews I could. So I wasn't expecting a top of the line unit with all the bells and whistles. I am replacing an ICN510 with this unit, and just wanted basic functions such as voice prompts for turns and rerouting. This unit comes preloaded with the lower 48 states, and has 1 gig of memory for POIs that are included on the DVD. The best thing I have noticed with this unit is reception. I was locked on to 5 satelites while sitting in my living room(about 15 feet from the nearest window). I can't beat that with my Magellan I use for geocaching!

Strengths: automatically adjusts the brightness level, quickly re routes you if you make a wrong turn, anti glare screen, large screen
Weaknesses: short battery life, won't fit in pocket
Summary: This is the first time I have used or seen a GPS in action & have used this for about a month---I don't do a lot of "field trips" but when I do I always seem to get lost (no sense of direction here)...I feel more relaxed knowing I can take a drive where I haven't been before & know my Sony GPS will get me there & especially find the way back home for me...

1 Star Reviewplease dont buy!
Strengths: bright screen, clear voice, easy touch screen
Weaknesses: a lot of things
Summary: please do not buy this! we recently went on vacation and we nearly got lost because of this. it told us wrong directions but luckily we had our backup map in the car. if it wasn't for the map, we wouldn't have got home. this is very out-of-date. you get the wrong address if the zip code isn't right. some people say it fits in your pocket, but it doesn't. it is way to big. only thing good is the view and the easy touch screen. other than that, it is not a good thing to use. it doesn't get a gps signal a lot of times. i am very disappointed with Sony.

Strengths: Pre-loaded US 50-states map with detail place of interests (POI).
Weaknesses: Short battery life. Too early battery charging warning with half battery life left.
Summary: This is my first portable GPS navigation system. It is cool in terms of design, functios, easy-to-use, map information and SONY quality. I have been using it for more than one week and use it to guide my driving from home to a distance from a couple of miles to tens of miles on both local and highway. It gives very accurate direction (including one-way road) and place of interests (postal office, schools, gas stations, museums, parks). The only thing that bothers me is the early warning that the battery need to be charged, when the system still shows half of the battery life. Overall, it is a very cool system that is good for everyday use or long-range traveling.

3 Star ReviewCan't use for Geocaching
Strengths: very easy to use and setup was a snap
Weaknesses: Can't use way points, and cannot enter coordinates manually for geocaching
Summary: With the popularity of geocaching I was surprised to find out after inquiring from Sony that the features that would allow this device to be used for geocaching were disabled. Would like to be able to use this device for geocaching.
