Strengths: it burns cd and dvd, not loud at all and windows recognize it correctly right after installing and startup.
Weaknesses: none yet.
Summary: I am skeptical about dvd/cd drives these days. I have had several drives die on me after one or two years of use so we'll see about this one. those i mention are sony, samsung and nec brands. trying pioneer for the first time this time.

Strengths: MANY Great technologies built-in to this drive. Low noise. Drive itself is Vista compatible.
Weaknesses: Comes with Nero 6, Vista says not all of it is compatible. Am yet to find the Magic Speed Software, it may be outdated
Summary: This is a great optical drive with an amazing list of technology. It burns cds and DVDs with ease. I'm yet to have a coaster come outta this drive. I've used it to install Vista Home, all hardware drivers & software for a new system, install & run games. If your running Vista you may need to update to Nero 7 or higher, or any other Vista ready burning software.
