Strengths: Lightweight, very sturdy (feels well-made), great keyboard, fast, computer to use
Weaknesses: None
Summary: The Lenovo T60 series continues where IBM left off. All the great ingredients are there - the keyboard (and keyboard layout), the performance, and the superior engineering. All in all, Lenovo has put together a system that will remind you how uncomfortable and flimsy your Dell/HP/Compaq/etc. can be. And it has unique features like the Fingerprint reader. Add that to the DVD/CD-RW, infrared, built-in wifi 802.11g, and it's easy to see why they come so highly recommended.

Strengths: Very slim and sturdy design. Excellent keyboard. Very fast performance (Duo Core).
Weaknesses: 1024*768 Resolution for 14" LCD screen.
Summary: Very slim compared with other 14" laptops. As sturdy as the former T-series Thinkpads. T-60 provides the user-friendly interface and considerate design for users. Centrino Duo Core also provides the very faster performance than other CPUs, especially in running the multi-task programs. The keyboard touch is also as great as other IBM Thinkpads. T-60 is also equipped with fingerprint reader, which can secure your files and information effectively. That's the reason why I bought my T-60 after I have a X-40. They are much more superior than other laptops. I strongly recommend Thinkpad T-series and X-series.

Strengths: Intel Core Duo, Great performance with portability, Classic ThinkPad design
Weaknesses: Display resolution, keyborad touch could be better.
Summary: I have used T41 with big satisfaction for last 3 years. Overall, T60 is well balanced its performance and portability. It has same body design with T41--it's good thing-- with small improvements in display and sound. Unfortunately, typing experience isn't that excellent as its previous models. I haven't run any complex tasks, however, Core Duo works quite fast in normal use. I am not crazy about fingerprint security idea... it seems too much.

1 Star ReviewIBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T60
Strengths: professional design
Weaknesses: Lenovo sent me a lemon; no urgency from customer service
Summary: Computer worked for less than a month before exhibiting software AND harware problems, rendering it unusable. Tech & customer service respond timely, but do not seem knowledgeable, or show any urgency in getting the entire situation cleared up. I was promised a new replacement by now, but service has bumbled the process. I finally gave up on him & have requested a complete refund. Not at all what I had come to expect from IBM/Thinkpad. Might be a Lenovo issue, or just a bad-fluke with my order. One thing to note: Lenovo requires you sign a form, noting your credit card account, prior to even ordering any replacement. Unacceptable for a computer (and docking station) that were sent out defective in the first place, then taken in for service & returned again defective.

Strengths: sturdy design, killer keyboard
Weaknesses: no X-Brite technology for LCD
Summary: This T60, thanks to its Core Duo chips, does seem to offer some performance improvement over its sole-chip cousins, especially when you multi-tasking. Nothing too cutting-edge, but has a sturdy design as all ThinkPads do. Very light and practical - I don't watch movie on laptops so I don't care for wide-screens. However, the battery life seems to be less than advertised 6 hours.

Strengths: Much faster than Thinkpad T43, Maybe 60% faster. Dual core technique. Multitask friendly! Finger print security: Novel, convenient!
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Thinkpad T60 uses Intel Core Duo processor, it is much faster than my previous IBM Thinkpad T43, maybe 50%-60% faster, especially for multitask applications. The laptop is built solid. I never suspect the quality of Thinkpad! Strongly recommend it for anyone questing for high quality laptops.

Strengths: fast. classic thinkpad design. nice keybroad.
Weaknesses: too heavy. I hate the fingerprint security.
Summary: I used to have a very very old IBM X600 for over 4 years. Though it was very slow, it is unbelievable stable and sturdy. Now I have a T60, it is great improvement in its speed and design. But when I start the windows, it is always black for half a second, which seems not affect its running. And the sound card driver has not set up automatically. It costs me several hours to find it in a inconspicuous file folder. Anyway, it is working good now. And I love it!

Strengths: Standard of laptop, simple design, high power and good condition
Weaknesses: low resolution
Summary: This is my first lap top and I got this via pricegrabber. It is perfect except low resolution. Since 2 month, any problem was not detected. I love it~! Why don't you buy this item for your lap top?

Strengths: sturdy case, thinkvantage, cool looks, ultranav, fingerprint reader, night light, keyboard, battery life
Weaknesses: display size cannot exceed 1024 X 768, no bluetooth
Summary: The Thinkpad T60 1953D6U has got the "Oh Wow!" looks, an excellent keyboard, a sturdy case and a long battery life. The software bundled by Lenovo is also quite good, particularly ThinkVantage and stuff. The fingerprint reader really makes logging in easy and cool. The battery life is damn good and is a positive for the T60. The only aspects where it loses out is the that the display resolution cannot exceed 1024 X 768. Also, it does not have Bluetooth capability.

Overall, its a very good buy.
