Strengths: Easy set-up, amazing picture quality in HD, 2 HDMI outputs, non glare matted design, side speakers provides a widescreen feel to movies, PIP and light weight
Weaknesses: Standard TV broadcast is just ok but much clearer than any of the cheaper non brands and just below Sony's XBR, no backlight on remote, like all LCD's the picture can lag while viewing sports
Summary: Let me start off by saying retail prices are for suckers!!! This TV was $200-$400 cheaper online with no tax or shipping fees. Although, you must do your research with the better business bureau before making an online purchase. There are plenty of shady online stores out there. Make sure to also buy a protection plan, just in case. You will still come out ahead. I went to every retail store searching for a 40" with an HD tuner and think this one was the best price for the money. The best way to view a TV is in someone's house without the HD set up. What you see in the store is NOT the picture you get at home. In HD, the picture was richer compared to other brands and in my mind was only rivaled by newer Samsung models (LNS4092D). Regular broadcasts are also clearer than the following brands I viewed: Philips, Sony Bravia (except for the XBR), Westinghouse, and Olevia.

Strengths: Ease of set-up, picture clarity, light weight, beautiful sound, diverse input/output options, great looks!
Weaknesses: No backlight on remote
Summary: We shopped for two months for an LCD HDTV. Samsung is simply the very sharpest, clearest, feature-loaded set for the money. Use Price Grabber and you can easily save $400-$600 over discout retailers. My teen-age daughter and I set up the TV in minutes. The included ATSC tuner brings in a GORGEOUS picture with a $29 signal-boosted HD antenna!! My friends all think it's cable or sattelite! The virtual-surround sound is INCREDIBLE! On Dolby-encoded TV programs or DVD's, it erally DOES seem like there are side speakers in the room! The matte finish on the set is discreet and not distracting. The menus are easy to navigate and understand. The quick-start manual makes connecting all your components a snap. This is THE TV for the money! What a beauty!

Strengths: Extremely easy to set up. Sound is very good. Plenty of connections for any component.
Weaknesses: no closed captioning with component video. Remote does not have ability to call up program guide on DirecTV set top box. Remote is not back lit.
Summary: The price on this model LCD HDTV and its picture drew us to buy it compared even with plasma sets. The relatively light weight allowed my wife and I to easily unbox it and get it up and working in just minutes. The picture with digital input (not HDTV) off satellite is crisp and the colors are vivid. Set up was straightforward and accomplished in minutes. Black level is excellent even when compared to plasma. Sleek styling and a price that can't be beat. I just wish the supplied remote had the ability to call up the program guide on the DirecTV box so I could get rid of the DirecTV remote.

Strengths: Easy to set up. The price was definitely a factor in buying the TV as well as the great color and features. My first wide-screen, LCD TV and I did a lot of research prior to buying a Samsung.
Weaknesses: So far haven't been able to hook up the external antenna from my Samsung DVD/VCR to the TV. I may have to call the company.
Summary: I have been very happy with the TV. It has a great picture and was very easy to set up. I shopped around prior to buying this model Samsung and comparable brand TVs were quite a bit more expensive and did not have anywhere near the brightness and crispness in the picture.

Strengths: Picture quality, refresh rate, 720p and 2 HDMI inputs keep it future-proof.
Weaknesses: No 1080p but its still an amazing picture. Only one component input. Standard tv broadcasts look OK, not great.
Summary: I actually bought the 32-inch version of this tv in a retail outlet store and it was the same price after 4 year warrenty protection. I brought it back after about 2 weeks and got my money back after finding a deal through pricegrabber.com. $40 more dollars for a 40-inch version is a no brainer.
The picture quality and contrast ratio are amazing. It really looks great in any room condition. You really cant beat this deal and as I check, the price keeps going down on the model. Highly recommended!!!

Strengths: This LCD HDTV TV has made watching sports on TV a new experience. The vibrant and vivid colours bring the action to your lap. I also own he Samsung 193P monitor for my computer and I love it.
Weaknesses: The price and warranty is competitive. I sure would love to have a 42" model though.
Summary: I use this LCD TV for many purposes: HD TV for Sports, and Movies, DVD, Internet streaming, and much more. A complete package for all of your convergence needs. Thanks Samsung.

Strengths: picture quality, dual HDMI, aesthetically pleasing, very easy setup
Weaknesses: the remote is kind of rudimentary, but i am using a Harmony 880 anyway...
Summary: I just got this TV on Saturday and i have to say i am blown away. this is my 2nd LCD (also have the Sharp LC32D4U). I literally had the TV set up in 10 minutes out of the box. SD channel viewing (as with most LCD TVs combined with subpar cable service) is mediocre. On the other hand, the HD channels look AMAZING on this set. Not sure how 1080p is going to best some of these 720p TVs (My Sharp is no slouch either). Even DVDs via my Samsung HD950 look better on this TV than they did on the Sharp. Best of all i picked this TV up for $1200...

Strengths: Excellant vibrant colors. Reds are "red" and blacks are "black" (not greyish) very easy set-up, scheme of black and silver is very stylish. Would definetely recommed this set!
Weaknesses: None so far.....
Summary: Exceptionally fast response time makes watching sports a true pleasure -PIP is an added benefit - whites are outstanding - crisp clear picture - viewing angles are superb. Cant say enough about the good things this TV offers!

Strengths: -Supports PC input at 1360x768
-Signal strength enhancer
-Picture-in-picture
-Built-in ATSC HD tuner
-Lightweight
-Base comes preinstalled
Weaknesses: -No options for DNIe
-Low quality sources look terrible
Summary: This is probably the best deal at the moment for a major brand 40" LCD TV with a built-in HD tuner. This unit worked great out of the box with an OTA antenna. It took only a minute to setup using the plug & play menu. I mainly use it hooked up to a computer and my Windows XP machine with a GeForce 6800 recognized the display without any problems. I did not need any special software to output at the recommended 1360x768 resolution. Half-Life 2 looked awesome on this display with no noticeable lag at all!

Strengths: Better picture than Plasma of same size and much less weight.
Weaknesses: Component Video does not support closed captioning, but that is probably the fault of the standard. The screws on the base extend too far and can scratch the surface it sits on if not protected.
Summary: 2006-06-13 12:06:52 Very impressive picture! I compared it next to two top of the line 42" Plasmas side by side at Best Buy. The picture is better, brighter, and at about half the weight if you plan on hanging it on the wall. I tried the component video input but it did not support closed captioning. Component video was better than S-Video but, supprise, the regular A/V picture was slightly better than the Component video. The OTA High Def reception is great, more channels and supper picture quality. Easy set-up.

Samsung LNS4041D
Strengths: The set is easy to set up and produces a beautiful picture, particularly on HD source material or DVDs.
Weaknesses: The reliability is doubtful.
Summary: I have been in the possession of the set for less than 90 days. Twice a technician has been out to service it, each time replacing the mainboard because it would turn itself off or not start. It recently failed a third time, whereby it produces no sound or picture.

Strengths: Great picture right out of the box. Easy set up. Great sound. Two HDMI connection very important for digital connections. PIP TV
Weaknesses: Only one year warranty like every other HDTV set.
Summary: One of the best LCD HDVT in the market. Excellent color with high contrast and black level performance. The color is good as Plasma TV if not better. Very light TV. Easy computer hook up. Great buy for the cost.

Strengths: Strong picture with a great design, dual hdmi inputs, dual antenna inputs, PIP
Weaknesses: Remote control has no enter button, PIP does not allow the Cable input and HD input screens to be together.
Summary: This is the first LCD TV that I have purchased and I must say that i'm very pleased with its color and ease of use to set up. I've been researching LCD tvs the last few weeks and this one by far, was the best product for its price and options. It has two hdmi inputs and two antenna inputs that allow you to easily hook up an HDTV antenna as well as your cable antenna. The picture is crisp and with its speakers on both sides, the sound is pretty good as well.
