Strengths: Beautiful picture, perfect fit in small spaces due to speakers being under the screen rather than on the side which takes up space in entertainment centers that were originally designed for tube tv's
Weaknesses: I wish the funky leg bases were a little more designer looking...they are functional but not very attractive. Extended warranties for these units are too expensive.
Summary: I bought this tv in March, 2006, for limited space I had in an entertainment center. This tv replaced my 32" standard tube tv. What a difference plasma makes! This Panasonic has an absolutely gorgeous, crisp detailed picture! Deep, rich clear colors! On HD channels, the picture is unbelievable! I read many reviews on many plasma tv manufacturers and visited stores to compare before I ultimately decided on the Panasonic TH-37PX60U. They have a great product. I am very pleased with my choice. I would buy it again!

Strengths: Picture Inputs Style Ergonomics Remote Weight Viewing angles
Weaknesses: No Picture-in-Picture Minimal speakers Aspect reset Factory Settings 1-year warranty No PC/RGB/VGA input
Summary: Using this TV with Verizon FIOS TV (high-def)...

Panasonic once again proves why they are at the top of the plasma food chain. Deeper blacks, better contrast, brightness while extending the life of the panel and reducing the weight. Amazing!

Look for deals on this unit as they are just starting to be stocked in retail stores.

The 37" is interesting because it has the same pixel count as its larger 42" brother, but smaller space. That means smaller pixels (more expensive to make) which is why it's not much more $$$ to get the 42".

The 37" is great for small rooms or tight spaces and gives you all the quality of the 42" model.

Panasonic picture and build quality are the best in the industry, this tv is no exception.

Make sure to adjust the Picture settings as the factory settings are too bright and red (use "Standard" and Color Temp "normal").

The built-in speakers are actually good considering, but they will crack when turned up loud and of course, offer very little bass response. Best with a home theater setup!

Strengths: Great picture quality, built-in HDTV turner, 2 HDMI inputs...
Weaknesses: The manual is not tremendously user-friendly.
Summary: I went through a long research process to finally end up with this 37" panasonic plasma. So far I'm very very pleased with my decision and this product.

We haven't gotten our cable service yet, but this TV does give the nice picture with only an antenna. This TV has outstanding reception with both the digital and analog signals. And it also has a fabulous picture with our old VCR and DVD player.

The default setting is great enough, the depths in the blacks is amazing too.

Compared with Sony Bravia, I prefer this slightly more smooth picture quality of the Panasonic. The Sony is extremely sharp, but too sharp to be true.

One thing is that the setting-up manual is not tremendously user-friendly. The date setting starts from 1/1/2050. It doesn't jump from Year to Year but only from Month to Month. You have to press the button continuously to set to the date you want.

Strengths: picture quality, 2 HDMI, digital cable tuner
Weaknesses: no VGA input, aspect ratio adjustment
Summary: Panasonic plasma picture quality is better than any LCD TVs on the market. The resolution is a little bit low comparing to LCD but I cannot tell the difference. Color, contrast ratio, and black level are much better. The price is competitive.

It also has digital cable ready tuner and can tune into HD channels of local stations and some unencrypted cable channels such as CNN, History, and music, radio. I can watch all 5 KQED digital channels via Comcast standard cable, not box required. www.kqed.org/tv/digita...

I wish it has VGA input. If I was looking for a 42", I might buy Samsung plasma just for VGA input.

Strengths: Deep Rich colors, solid blacks
Weaknesses: No VGA hook up inputs for a pc
Summary: I was sold on this when I first compared the last generation version of the 50U...The new 60U colors and sharp details and brightness look as good if not better. Still a bit Pricey compared to other sets in the same size...but a true all around performer...only lacking a nice pc input for. I use an antenna for my HD signal... tuner sensitivity works very well also...A good choice and size for those that may still want to utilize there entertaiment stands.

Strengths: PRICE!! Two HDMI ports, SD slot. Picture Quality... it's a Panasonic Plasma, 'nuff said!
Weaknesses: Very weak speakers, and overall dimensions not proportonate to the 16:9 format.
Summary: I've had this for three weeks, and am very happy with the performance so far. There is nothing better than a Panasonic plasma at this price range, especially when it comes to natural looking colors and rendering. The 60u (9th gen) models have higher contrast and one more HDMI port over the older ones. Not to mention they cost hundreds less too!

The build quality leaves a lot to be desired, and the remote is on the cheap side... but overall this IS THE best bang for your buck for a plasma TV. With Panasonic's proven track record... u just can't go wrong!

Strengths: Beautiful picture, easy to set-up
Weaknesses: nothing really
Summary: My 3rd plasma HDTV and 2nd Panasonic, great and easy to set-up, plenty of I/O front and back; Use with cable box via component video, sound hook-up tp home theater.

Great picture even in normal resolution channels; various picture ratios to choose from.

Would recommend it.

Strengths: Beautiful picture, good size, lot's of inputs!
Weaknesses: No separate adjustments for each input.
Summary: I was looking for a while for the right tv. I went with LCD tv's to start and have owned 3 different ones. I was never happy with the black's (no detail). Switched to looking at plasma's and this was the first one I bought. I haven't looked back! Again, the only negative would be not having individual picture adjustments per input. That would really put it over the top and not quite sure why they didn't add this feature considering cheaper tv's have it.

Strengths: Built-in HDTV tuner, 2 HDMI inputs, SD slot, great picture quality especially when playing DVD’s.
Weaknesses: No VGA input, speakers are OK but not that great.
Summary: Had this TV for over two months, no complaint so far especially with the price it was paid for. Default settings seem good enough, I do not have to adjust any out of the box. It probably has better image, better looking compared to the TH-37PX50 version. I wish it has a VGA or one more s-video input (there is only one s-video input already used to connect VCR) so that I can hook up my laptop to the TV directly. Overall, I’m happy with it. However if I have to do it all over again, I will get the TH-42PX60 instead with not much more money. Of course, this all depends on your available space for the TV.

Strengths: Size, picture quality, HDMI, look & feel
Weaknesses: With some mounts, backpanel is hard to use
Summary: Installed this screen 2 weeks ago. Used primarily for satellite and HD. Great contrast, pix quality. Good remote, fairly easy setup.

I mounted this and found that the crossbars make multiple feeds difficult, but solveable.

I'd buy it again.....

1 Star ReviewHigh Price with Low Resolution
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: 2006-04-17 10:13:15 This TV is more expensive than many same size LCD TVs (including Sharp 37" HDTV). Its resolution is the lowest but the power consumption and weight are the highest. Its picture quality is almost same with LCD TVs.

Strengths: Panasonic is a name brand. Great picture.
Weaknesses: Remote seems cheap. Pedestal is a bit strange, since it seems to stick out of my entertainment center. Heavy. TV volume can not be adjusted if you are using an A/V receiver.
Summary: I got this TV because it was the largest one that could fit in my entertainment center. It was one of the least wide 37" TV I could find. I got this for about $930 at a big name membership warehouse. Great price, since an LCD TV would be about $100-$200 more.

The picture doesn't appear to be much better, unless you watch it in HD. There is no VGA support for a computer, but if you have SVHS plug on computer, the computer image is average. The secure digital card reader seems a bit slow.

Strengths: HD channels look fantastic. Great contrast. The sd card slot for viewing digital pictures is nice. 2 HDMI inputs
Weaknesses: The new models have higher resolutions. Standard definition channels don't look that great... but that is a problem with all high def sets.
Summary: I just picked up this set about 2 weeks ago. So far I am very impressed. I wanted something in the 32 to 40 inch range. I almost bought the samsung lcd 32 inch....but after taking a look at this one I decided to go with the plasma. I have been very impressed with the high def channels. Standard def isn't that great, but that is normal. The set offers a "justify" aspect ratio where the distortion is larger on the edges but in the middle it keeps 4:3 programs mostly the correct size. That is a nice touch, but I would have liked more aspect options. I wish they had a black cabinet instead of silver/grey. But I guess it is what the screen looks like that really matters. I would say that if your viewing distance is about 8 feet or so this is the perfect size TV.
