Strengths: drag and drop. color screen gives. uses aaa battery. easy navigation
Weaknesses: design. accessories
Summary: 2007-02-03 12:08:51 got it today. well, i am not the one who spends more than 100$. for me, an mp3 player is the thing you can keep with yourself anywhere, durable and does not ask for care.
its 1gb capasity is good. now i just take a whole folder and drop it in my mp3 and dont bother choosing files. ohyeah, drag and drop saves time. i am glad i do not have to download any support program application. actually, support programs that many pimpy players have - i could never understand their purpose. color screen is tiny cute thing. shows pictures - yeah it does. jpeg files - just drag and drop!!! so easy. it uses a single aaa battery. will cost me like 10-12 bucks a month for batteries and i will have music for 3-4 hours a day. good. the bad thing with rechargable ion batteries is that they are hard to find one when the old one depletes. kinda irreplacable. navigation is quite easy. small guide booklet explains it all.
now bad things. design - it very looks like the old models and suddenly it comes with color screen. kinda odd, good odd though.
accessories - no protective bag. uhhhh, well, i will buy one, then.
extra: it comes with a CD. the downloaded is a guide, sansa media converter (dont know what it means), and a rhapsody application.
but i am using it only for two days. will come back for revision.
revision: one bad thing is that player will not show you its content unless you switch it from MSC to Auto detect. it willshow you an enpty folder. to switch it to Auto detect go to Menu-Settings-USB-Auto detect.
microphone is not good, just sucks. recording from radio will not come in good quality either. but this player is just best for what it is for - listening to music.

Strengths: Light weight,color screen,sound quality
Weaknesses: pictures look very fuzzy on the screen
Summary: I have had this unit for over a week. So far the experience has been very good. Besides playing mp3, the unit also functions as digital voice recorder and FM radio. However, the picture looks very fuzzy on the screen. The sound quality is very impressive...For the price I paid, I am very satisfied.

Strengths: Small size, portable. Pretty easy to use. Nice unit.
Weaknesses: Operate in AAA battery. Protection case is not included with purchase. Must use the USB connection cable.
Summary: It runs on AAA battery; which is good for fast replacement but I bought a rechargeable set and it solves all the problem. You can choose a list of song and add them to the favorites list, which can be accessed easily. Photos display is very small but something is better than nothing. Overall, good unit and not very expensive.

Strengths: Color screen Just replace AAA bateries as needed.
Weaknesses: Proprietary USB cable
no expansion slot, only on the C200 series
The playlist feature is little goofy
Summary: Awesome form factor. Just replace AAA bateries as needed. Proprietary USB cable- which is difficult to replace. It has no expansion slot, that feature is only on the C200 series The playlist feature is little goofy- You need to be compatible with WMP to get it going.

Strengths: The Music sounds good and is easily transferred from cd's to the C140 player once I learned how.
Weaknesses: It took me a few minutes to figure out how to transfer the music. Better directions would have been helpful.
Summary: I went on line and ordered the C140 and had it in my hands within 10 days. I had a fed ex shipping number so I was able to easily track my shipment until it arrived at my door.

Strengths: Compact & light, good sound quality, color screen, 1Gb capacity, uses one AAA battery
Weaknesses: Buttons can be a little fiddly if you have big fingers.
Summary: The compact size of this player means you can put it in any pocket. It only uses one AAA battery, so it's fairly light. I love that I can replace the AAA battery anywhere & anytime. Unlike iPods which you have to hook up to a PC to recharge, or buy one of those charging cradles. The menus & navigation on the color screen are easy to read & use. Images (say from a digital camera) don't look that great, but why would you want to display those on here anyway? After all it's just for music playback. Hooked up to the PC via it's custom USB cable, it appears as an external drive, so you can just drag & drop your MP3s. 1Gb capacity is a lot of songs. Not your entire music collection, but it'll keep you going for quite a while. Replace the headphones, and you're good to go.

Strengths: compact , durable (I've dropped a few times on hard floors)
ease of use and great features.
Weaknesses: small slippery little bugger..I drop in too much.
no belt clip. sometimes freezes after unhooking usb link-
but you pop the battery out for a sec and it's all better!
Summary: very worth anything under $80 at this time
works well with realplayer or Win media player
don't need extra software, acts like a hard drive
it is a little cumbersome on the making of folders (playlists as they are called)
you'll get used to it
don't know and don't think it works with I tunes
hope this helps

Strengths: radio, aaa battery
Weaknesses: inferior to Iriver
Summary: I bought this player for my dad so he could retire the CD player when jogging and traveling. While I prefer the iRiver series, I chose this line for a few reasons:
1. Buttons were larger and easier to maneuver.
2. Music and radio functionality were available.
3. Storage size is a good size to have enough variety of music.
4. Price was more than reasonable.
5. The unit runs on a battery so a battery change would only be necessary versus charging it.
In addition, I learned that this unit could carry photos and videos. While unlikely to ever be used, it's there as an option.
Like other SanDisk products, this item does deliver on what it advertises to be. The instructions for how to upload music is a bit confusing, but solved with the following: I opened the unit as though it were a regular flash drive. Thereafter, I opened the "Media" folder and clicked and dragged the music I wanted into the folder. Simple enough.
The sound quality is fine (i.e., equalizer options) and the bright color screen allows for easy reading. In addition, there is the option to listen to the radio if so desired. The unit is small, light, and an easy companion for where ever it may go.
In the end, I wanted my dad to have something that was easy to use and delivered on quality. SanDisk does both with the Sansa c140.

Strengths: * Very easy setup
* Loading songs is a breexe
* nice and compact
* Cheap for the quality
Weaknesses: * Would have liked a case/arm band.
Summary: 2006-11-09 14:21:29 I recently got this player. Setup and loading songs is a breeze. Sound quality is very good. Battery life is awesome. I just wish it came with an armband / carrying case. Excellent player for the money.

Not too bad
Strengths: Color screen, big memory, many functions
Weaknesses: small screen, no music list
Summary: This mp3 player looks cool with color screen, but the fonts are small and not very clear. It has many functions such as voice recorder, FM radio, but the list of music is not good, and it is not convenient to create a folder. The worst is that you cannot delete the file directly by the player itself.

Using USB cable for so small device very poor idea ...
Strengths: Display is color. Has FM radio
Weaknesses: Incompatible with Windows 2000, only works with WindowsXP. I had tried to reformat it with FAT32 but nothing changed. Display with so bad resolution can not be used to show any images. USB cable
Summary: Using USB cable for so small device very poor idea. Recording useless at all. Recording quality unbreakable bad with very low mic sensitivity. Unwanted copying of IPod controls (regular battons looks match more better). Too big size for one AAA battery device.

Strengths: Size,great color,easy to use.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: This MP3 is for users who are not necessarily interested in carrying hundreds of downloads. With 1 MG, you can easily carry at least 150 titles and this is plenty. Very easy to use, fast downloads and it all fits in your palm. You can add a case which will save the screen from scratches. All in all, great experience.
