Secure Digital (SD) memory card expansion slot is a great future- proof and obsolete-proof part of this camcorder. Weaknesses: Recording under low light produces mediocre video. Recording length is limited based on dvd-media (single sided or double sided mini disks & also on the video qualtiy setting chosen !!) Summary: I've used this camcorder with DOUBLE sided mini DVD-RW panasonic disks without any problems. The fact that it has a 3 CCD video camera, speaks to the great video recording it can do. It's very light weight and easy to use with just one hand, compared to my previous 8 mm sony camcorder which weighed like a brick. DVD Camcorders are the way to go, to avoid messy recording tapes and to preserve the video quality for years to come, without any degradation. I'm able to just record video and play it in my dvd-player in a matter of minutes. NO conversions, NO transfers and NO connecting cables to mess up with. The only issue I've with this camcorder is the limited recording durationm anywhere from 1/2 hr to 1 hr for highest quality video recording, even on a dual-sided mini dvd-rw disks. I've not used mini dvd-RAM disks. Never use the DIGITAL ZOOM. It's a useless feature for most occasions. 100% of People (3/3) found this review helpful. Was this review helpful or unhelpful for you? Weaknesses: joystick is a little awkward to handle but didn't really compare with other camcorders. The instructions were a little confusing, especially formatting and figuring out what works works best for me. Summary: I don't know much about camcorders and needed one for our baby's birth. I don't have much time to read up on the different functions. In general, the camcorder does what it needs to. The colors are vivid. Use of the camera is pretty easy and I feel comfortable having other people record with it. The instructions on formatting the disc is a little confusing. I have to do other research to figure out what is best for me. I tried to place the disc in our DVD player but it did not read. I'm guessing it's because it was not formatted correctly. Price is also nice around $400. The only regret I feel is: The language option (English, French, Espain) didn't contain my native language. N/A Member Since: Product Experience: 5 Months	do not buy anything from panasonic Strengths: NONE... GOOD PRICE ONLY Weaknesses: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE... POOR WARANTEE...BROKE IN JUST 5 MONTHS Summary: i bought this camera 06/07-it broke in november 07...they wanted almost 200.00 to repair it "under warrenty" they only guarantee their products for only 90 days.when i called customer service i got the run around and one person told me i was under warranty and no charge then they called to approve the cost and they would not back their own reps word...
