Strengths: Speed, design
Weaknesses: QC issues, lack of dual layer DVD-RW
Summary: This is overall a great laptop that comes up short for just a couple of reasons. The QC issues associated with noise and heat on the first few weeks is unacceptable on a laptop retailing for 2500 USD. Other than that and the lack of a few features like dual layer DVD-RW and a somewhat slow video card, this is a great design with performance to spare.

Strengths: Fast, great form factor
Weaknesses: Ports, bugs, running Windows
Summary: This laptop is an excellent entry in the 15 inch category with a few catchs. Price/performance wise, its about as good as an Apple laptop has gotten (though the latest 17" MacBook trumps it). The video card is adequete for medium gaming (mostly in Windows) and the processor flies. I have the 7200 RPM HD, which is fast enough, though I have little experience with 5400 RPM HD MacBooks. The new screen is gorgeous, but they all seem to suffer from less even backlighting than previous Powerbooks.

Thats the good. The bad is the widespread reports of noise, screen flickering, Airport connectivity issues etc. You can chalk it up to first gen issues, but a $2500 laptop shouldn't have first gen issues this prevalent period. Also, its lacking in maybe 1 more USB port (an external mouse and thumb drive take up the 2 available ports) and for some, the FW 800 port will be missed. Battery life is good, comprable to that of the previous Powerbook, but not outstanding.

For the first time, with Apple's official Boot Camp support, Windows runs on a Mac. It runs well, and Apple has supported most hardware with Boot Camp. I realize its a beta, but there are some quirks that are anonying. One is the lack of a true delete key, so you have to remap the keyboard to get delete functionality (something more important in Windows than in OS X). The other is the lack of a second mouse button. For some reason Apple remains defiant in this department - even the Mighty Mouse was half baked. This is a problem in both OS X and Windows, but more so in Windows.

In the end, am I happy with it? Yes. Is it perfect? No. In other words, it embodies the Apple users have come to love and hate over the past five years. A good but certainly not flawless product.

Strengths: Super Fast, Beautiful Screen, Easily Connects with Office Lan and Small Business Server
Weaknesses: zero - it's about perfect for a laptop computer
Summary: I replaced my PowerBook with this refurbished MacBook Pro because I wanted to run windows and boot camp to be more compatible with my office. What I received is super fast, I added a gig of aftermarket ram, and i can easily VPN and work natively when at the office and I haven't added Windows yet. I would definitely recommend this computer to anyone.

Strengths: screen brightness, keyboard, speed of computer
Weaknesses: buzzing noises sometimes, cd/dvd drive is noisy
Summary: overall we are very happy with this computer. we were going to get the powerbook but after comparing the specs we knew we had to go with this one. having the isight in the computer is a nice feature too. so far we also think the mag safe power adapter is great and will hopefully become used more widely in the future.

3 Star ReviewNot as good as I expected
Strengths: looks nice, work well with remote control.
Weaknesses: expensive, get very hot after an hour of use. With 256MB video memory but if you play dvd, the quality of the movie is not as good as it should be
Summary: I am long waiting for this laptop to come out since everybody talking about this. Never use mac before but I am willing to drop laptop pc. This toy doesn't impress me at all compared to any laptop I am currently use. Very limited port for you to connect with other toy, only 2 USB port. Compared to laptop with the same value, you should have much pleasure

Strengths: fast, user friendly, compact. helpful backlight keyboard and brightness adjustment for screen and keyboard optimum for late night working. keypad so advanced no mouse is necessary.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: My first Mac computer and I absolutely love it! Keypad supports click, double click, vertical and horizontal scroll and even right/secondary click features for you Windows converters. The wireless works awesome; I can set up separate locations for my home wireless and my school wireless as I constantly carry it between the two. The built-in iSight was much better than I expected and comes with Photo Booth and it's array of features for snapshots. The programs the came on it with no extra cost were ideal for my projects, as a Photo Editor for my school's newspaper and editor. iPhoto & especially iMovie HD are amazing. Plus, when I added Adobe's Creative Suites 2, I've never seen Photoshop and InDesign load that fast as compared to previous computers. I recommend this computer to anyone willing to cough up the cash for it! I chose the 2GHz over the 2.16GHz because it was over $100 for .16 GHz more, and I had already invested enough in the computer as a part-time worker. I am completely satisfied with my choice!
