Strengths: Crystal clear midranges & high notes, clean sound, rugged construction
Weaknesses: Wimpy woofer, lacks air moving capability, can sound a little bright & harsh right out of the box
Summary: Bought these just about a month ago to act as bookshelves on my PC, powered by a Pioneer VSX-816. So far I'm rather enjoying them, right out of the box I was very impressed with the included documentation and accessories (special mounting screws for installing at an angle on a wall, a level for measuring, guidelines for placement and installation), but I was rather dissapointed by the immediate brightness of the speakers. After using them for a few weeks they've broken in a little and sound much nicer, but I am still a little dissapointed in the bass. I didn't expect much at all out of the 6 inch woofers, and the response range doesn't seem too shabby, but it definitely doesnt move much air in the lower ranges. This can sometimes make them sound a little shallow when paired with the amazing midrange and tweeter, which by the way are quite excellent. I've been auditioning quite a few of bookshelf speakers recently, and these just sound tight as a bell in the upper registers. Vocals and sharper sounds are crystal clear, I've found myself really enjoying listening to these speakers at lower volumes just because they still manage to convey such a wide range of sounds with crystal clarity.
