JBL EC35 3-Way Dual 5" Center Channel Speaker (Each) Black

(MPN: EC35)
Description: The Northridge E Series EC35 3-way center channel loudspeaker was custom-designed to superbly reproduce the human voice. Many movie soundtracks consist mainly of dialogue, so the center speaker shoulders the burden of filling a home theater.... Read More

Strengths: Powerful, crisp,
Weaknesses: huge
Summary: This center channel is one of the best I ever heard. It really does what it is supposed to it provides the sound that comes from the screen. I guess a speaker this great has to be huge ( it is 22" long and 7.25" high ) I had to mount my plasma on the wall rather then sit it on an audio credenza because the speaker blocked the screen. My wife isn't too happy with the size but the sound is awesome!!

2 Star ReviewI've been disappointed with the sound quality, alt ...
Strengths: Looks great and appears to be built with high quality.
Weaknesses: Sound quality is too "tinny".
Summary: I've been disappointed with the sound quality, although this may be more a function of my receiver (Denon AVR 1907) rather than the speaker. I know the speaker received high reviews, which is why I bought it in the first place.

Strengths: Very crisp sound quality.
Weaknesses: Enclosure is a little large.
Summary: I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to add to or upgrade their current sound system. The 3 way set up provides clear and precise rendering for movies and music. A pure pleasure to listen to. For the dollar value it was one of the best improvements made.

Strengths: Great value for the money. Excellent sounding center channel speaker.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: After allowing for some break-in time, I began my listening. I used a variety of musical styles as well as a few films. The first thing I noticed was that the EC35 created a rather large soundstage. Imaging was very good. Mid and high end detail were precise, and the speaker handled dynamic material without a problem.

Strengths: great sound and vocals from surround sound. excellent clarity. nice bass from the center. recommended
Weaknesses: a little on the big side 7.25" tall
Summary: very pleased with the jbl product overall. sound matching is great. I have filled my entire living room with JBL speakers. front left and right e50, ec35 center, sp6c for surroung and rear surround. very pleased with the performance. I can't wait for the sub cable to arrive so I can complete my mission with the e150p 10" sub. very happy.

Strengths: Great sound for a relatively low price. Big and sturdy. Looks good with or without grille.
Weaknesses: Big size may not be compatible with some home theater set-ups.
Summary: This center channel works nicely with a set of JBL E30's that I have as my main speakers. I'm very satisfied with JBL's quality and value.

Strengths: Good sound quality. Good price
Weaknesses: Grill distorted
Summary: Use for center speaker for my 7.1 home theater system. Good sound quality. Matches my other JBL speakers well in sound. reasonable price.

The grill is distorted when opening the retail box. There always has a gap between the grill and the speaker box. Dust will get in. This indicates sub-standard build quality.

Strengths: A lot of performance for its price. Bi-wiring option. Very full sounding.
Weaknesses: This speaker is quite large so make sure you have the room for it. In addition, due to the rear ported design, placement might be an issue.
Summary: This center feels very well crafted. I can finally hear all the subtleties in the dialogues of my DVD movies. All the voices sounded very natural and have a dimension to them.

Strengths: Full soundstage Plenty of power for mid sized home theater Excellent price/performance Finally vocals that are pretty clear and accurate
Weaknesses: Heavy/large
Summary: This isnt the best sounding center channel i have ever heard but it is the best sounding for under $200 or possibly $300+ I finally had the money to upgrade from a 2way center to this speaker and what a difference. All of the dialogue was a little muffled and empty sounding before even when I upped the center channel. Now even with the center at default the vocals can all be heard clearly enough for me to not be frustrated as I was before. I dont think you could do better with anything else in this pricerange.

Strengths: Good high end. Crisp.
Weaknesses: Not as warm as I thought it would be.
Summary: I use this as the center speaker in my surround sound set up. It did what I hoped by bringing out the upper frequencies in the dialogue. The sound is really "in your face". I'm really glad I spent the little extra to get a three way speaker. The high end is a must in this application. The only thing that would improve this is if I had two so I could "spread" the sound more in my large room. It has four terminals that allows you have more options in how you wire it into your set up. You can access the speakers separately or together, depending on how you wire it. Priced great in Price Grabber!

Strengths: Crisp and great price
Weaknesses: A Little on the big side
Summary: All I can say is that if size doesn't matter, and quality does, get this center channel. Put it with 5 SP6C in-ceiling JBL speakers and an E150P subwoofer, DVD's come to life!

Strengths: Powerful, uncompromising nice looking speaker. Clarity beyond my expectation and great on music too. Best price ever.
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: Im a fan of Cambridge soundworks and Bose but this center can equal the MC500 of the cambridge but with cheaper investment and many times better over compare to the VSC10 of Bose. The materials that made up the EC35 are top class, the gold plated binding post BI-Wire and BI-Amp capability that you can find it on high end speakers no wonder JBL posted a selling price of over $300. Bought mine for $149 and was out of stock at ??? after a week. Damn, they are popular and they must be good, right? Maybe, 2 more to buy for my Left and Right speakers and my AM5 will go to my REARS. Believe me they are that good.
